Bros,

Read thru the thread and saw quite a few spas mentioned here.
Any recommendations for a good spa if I only have 1N to spare in HCM?
Don't mind spending slightly more, as long as its worth it.
Thanks!

Went to independence palace already. Nothing much. Prefer war musuem, as there're a lot of history we can learn through. Might be going to wash hair tomorrow. Wanna try out. Any recommendation? And what's the damage?

If I'm not mistaken, these girls are PG (Pretty Girls) that you hire for events. Miss Vietnam, believe it or not, do have certain requirements. My friends and I dated last years contestants so we can attest to that (one of them still with the girl...the rest of us done). Any way story for another day.

And no, Vietjet don't do this for every flight. It was a publicity stunt they pulled last year. Got fined by the VN aviation authority for it. However, it was fine/money well spent because it generated the kind of publicity you have to pay many times more to achieve. It's the case of negative publicity better than no publicity (and let's be honest...only PC cop berate it for being sexists...but you can't argue with result. The boys among us would happily take Vietjet out of it...no hangup there)

Yes, their cheap flight also help. In all, I usually see Vietjet (and I fly them 10 times a year) flight always at 80-100% capacity for their SEA route. They kicking serious ass and even big boys like JetStar playing catch-up for Vietnam market.

Duyen at Truong Dinh St at Ben Thanh charges 190k for hairwash and massage for 1.5hrs....tips would be about 150-200k......girls are pretty and good place to relax...try the pork and liver noodles few shops away, one of the best i had in vn!!!:p
just went last week..going again soon!!:D

The amount of time that video is being circulated till today is far more important than the fine they paid.

planning another trip in Nov :D

Over the years I'd been using this thread and often I still able to find the information I need. I would just use search to find. If you are a newbie maybe you won't know what to search, that's where the DIY guides comes in. The DIY guide made by the seniors back in 2008, most are still valid.

Anyway the key words I normally use is cafe, salon, massage, beer. Normally will get some updated info I need. Been doing this almost every year since 2009.

Great report, that's the kind that makes for good reading and learning. About your tip, I know you are trying to help the ones having trouble, which is cool and, dare I say it, nice. Some here know, I'm the opposite of a newbie. I'm mainly on another forum but had some presence on this one a few years ago. But the method you describe to find info, well, it shouldn't be necessary. The setup of this forum (or this VN thread at least) inhibits people sharing info. When I was on here, the typical response to newbies was to insult them immediately. The ones who would welcome them were few. So fresh blood on the forum was discouraged. THere's the zapping problem. Anyone who expresses an opinion that some here don't like gets zapped or super-zapped, actually they will use PM to orchestrate it, and there are some who use clone accounts to build up zapping points. Of course seniors have the most zapping power, so it's a case where Senior means power, as if the imbalance weren't already enough. But as for the ratio of useless chit-chat (for anyone but the very few in on the inside jokes) to actual useful info -- well, I don't need to even state it, just a browse here speaks for itself. Go check another forum on this topic for Vietnam and it's like night and day. Again, the setup of this forum encourages this. There should be moderation that discourages this chit-chat by providing a better way for members to talk offline to each other, or to their private group, rather than have their private group's chit-chat visible to all, and also prolific as it tends to be. If you want private chit-chat, take it offline. It's complete useless noise to the rest of us. Finding useful info in this forum is extremely tedious. And I have to say that there's another cause, namely the spirit of withholding info that's so prevalent here, a kind of miserly attitude toward info. It seems as if the people who share good info here are the ones who don't get it yet, the ones who haven't yet learned that "sharing" is a dirty word here. The attitude is summed up by those who say they are against "spoon-feeding".

As I write this, I have 126 reputation points earned over a couple years a few years ago. It will be interesting to watch which direction those go in after this post, when I'm speaking honestly and openly about what I think.

Are you in favor of sharing info openly in the forum? Up me then.

Are you against? Zap away.

Maybe you like to chit chat with your friends only in the forum and don't care if it makes reading the forum unpleasant for everyone else. Zap me.

I expect that the ones who would have upped me have all figured out how things are here and have left by now. ;-) ( that group includes myself, I'm only back visiting for a specific reason this time)

But I could be wrong.

Ha. Good one. Tell me "you are WRONG!" and then up me. ;-)

I don't know, man. I just went through pages and pages of blah here. I'm not feeling wrong yet. Granted there are at least 2 current members who I've noticed here who seem to be trying to change the status quo.

Trying to come on here and read and get info, it's a bit like walking down a sidewalk in Saigon. Clods will park their motorbikes any which way blocking your path, forcing you to climb or go out in the road, and if you do manage to find a path clear enough to walk through, there's a good chance someone will drive their motorbike up onto the sidewalk and nearly run you over.

Face it, this thread is utter chaos. It's like the Vietnamese driving style applied to a forum.

Whoa, my points are going way up. This was NOT what I expected. Not sure I will be able to process this. ;-)

Hello all,

New to these forums. I'm a viet kieu living in Australia but return to VN every now and then.
These days I find picking up girls on social media seems to be the best way rather than going the p2p route. I do still enjoy the massages with hj endings though.
I've seen the girls advertised on forums for 300-600k but have yet to try them.
Will be going to VN in Nov and Dec, wouldn't mind some company to hang out with when the balls are empty.

Happy endings are available in the massage places of 2-3 star hotels. Try Vien Dong hotel, it's a very popular one.
