There are 3 channels providing the World Cup live matches. The "pay channel", RS will board cast all 64 matches live which I think majority of the hotels will not be providing this channel.

Dun worry too much, Thai Channel 7 will provide some of the live matches.

Thai regulator insists all World Cup finals games must broadcast free-to-air but the "pay channel", RS is not willing,

But in relativity , its too much of a good thing as well as not knowing exactly where is showing , there is a chance you will miss some of the games.

Too much of a good thing I mean is you are having so much fun you are with a girl (or man or LB!) or you are so drunk.

If go , I would chose the quarters or semi finals onwards.

Oh i see,

Well, the period i going according to the schedule, is the 2nd round of the world cup, which means group stage finished liao....

Just came back from my usual short trip to pattaya. In my 4 days there...The only soldiers I saw were the ones at the toll. Other than that.. really doesn't feel anything different from pre - coup. I think the news really over sensationalise everything. Making it looks like the entire thailand is on lock down. Other than the fact that there is a curfew in place. Even with that..hardly anyone gave a thought to it. Walking street was rocking with plenty to of punters and puyings. Soi 6 also not too bad.. except that there are less slightly punters due to the agogo at W'S opening earlier at 6pm. On all nights. .I was out past the curfew.. and there are still crowds everywhere, especially at the food stalls.

So if there are any bros who are concerned of the situation on the ground..I would say there should be minimal concerns. Don't go cancel your trip unless u really scared.

Aside.. Thanks to bro K6 for your mee goreng and mee rubus over the past 2 days. It was great fun going to W'S with u and bro moonlight. We shd do that again. Good to see those fellow singapore bros at yr bar too.

Cheers.

For me the problem is not the situation in Thailand but having no insurance coverage in case anything suay happens on the trip.

I have received a letter and cheque from Aunty Lucy Insurers informing me that they are cancelling my policy and refunding the premium paid. I had took up a single trip policy with them several months ago about the same time I booked my flight tickets with TG.

Thai Airways has graciously allowed me to reschedule my flight to September without any penalty.. hopefully the situation would have improved by then. :D

Eagerly anticipating my virgin trip to good ol Patts this thu. More accustomed to the Walking Street on Fields Ave than the one at Pattaya but I've been told I have to see Patts at least one time.

Been reading up the good info that is on the thread and as I told bro yinyang(who has graciously made time to show me Patts) today, the bars on Soi 6 definitely intrigue me...am abit jaded from the agg-bar type action in Angeles City and also BKK.

bro KS6..will definitely drop by Goodfellas for a drink or 2 or more with bro YY. I understand there a big party on Soi 6 on 7 June Sat?

cheers,
w.f.g

I have been AC and read some of your reports. (BTW thanks!) Pattaya agogos beat AC and Bkk agogo 100Xs!

Soi 6 is a giant Blow Row so imagine an endless street of bars with ST rooms above!

Walking Street is a must see but its now a circus .... like Las Vegas. For better value go LK Metro or go polish gems at the thousands of beer bars around town. Bro Kawaii knows a cluster of beer bars near Soi 6 with many nice girls. He abandoned me there once and I nearly got raped by a ladyboy!

Lots more to do there to instead of being an Energizer rabbit! In AC I find the afternoons boring. And having Pattaya as my playground for so long , I found AC very small! If I get bored in one area , I can always move to another area in Pattaya. In AC I its only WS or Perimeter.

But be careful there of underage girls. Unlike AC , there will be no underage girls scam. If the girl refuse to go back to the hotel with you , your spidey senses should be tingling. This is coz the hotel will take the ID as safety. And the ID show EVERYTHING! if they are underaged or if they are born a male!

The only thing AC has as an advantage is the availability of a sports betting shop , maciam Singapore Pools!

PS AC also used to have a lot of bars open in the afternoon but nowadays a lot of Pattaya agogs also open afternoons so about equal here.

Wfg, ATL -can't agree more with ATL's on Patts draw (vs AC). AC's whoring is cheaper (plain economic competitive disparity). Think AC more glitzed up, with neon lights in few locales. And you got something to while your daylight hours too. Big Central is THE mall.

Patts is tanchart friendly, what with tourist industry
