Wierd eh? Was surprised to see Rafa playing mind games with Ferguson... when we know the latter is one of the best in that area. Usually, Rafa doesn't say much, probably he thought it was a better idea to change his mentality after poor past results against Man Utd, but sadly it didn't work.

Mascherano wasn't really pressing on to the referee, he just probably said 2 sentences before getting sent off. Probably the 2 sentences were full of insults? But didn't look like that from the expression on his face.

Well, a poor, poor result but no time to look back on this as there are 4 more important ties coming up.

Hindsight :) Had we won the game many will say Rafa got it right. Looked at what he & some of our players say before the game, confident but not arrogant. Jinx or mental block, while playing against the scums, we seemed to concede goals that were not too difficult to defend.
Mascherano hasn't been long enough with us to know who are Steve Benette & Mike Riley, I am sure now he does.
Hope to see us bounce back strongly against the blueshits.

Bro, rafa play the same team throughout. It's the mind game and he talks too boldly.Fergie chose not to be involved!I agreed it's the mental block agn'st the scums.Btw, Mascherano should also pay 'Rob styles' a visit!:D

Agreed bro. I have no complaints we were poor before the red. But actually the Inter game at the San Siro was the same, we just stepped it up a bit in the second half. Remember, Cruz was wrecking all sorts of havoc with our defence then.

Skrtel has been a solid player so far but the defence is not properly organised (set piece, holding the line, playing offside etc).

On the other hand, Bennett has to take a lot of blame for the result. He knows very well by sending a player off for dissent he has really decided the game there and then (and perhaps the league title). This is complete bullshit.

The refs got to realise you don't win respect for the men in black by sending off players for 'asking'. WTF it was not as if we had a whole bunch of players in his face!!

Ok, the man is sent off, result is done. Let's see if the refs are consistent about this dissent issue. Unless the FA passes some kind of rule against it, I'm sure there is going to be a lot of inconsistency among the refs, some of whom are not willing to book players easily. So it's just shite that it happened to us on a big day.

Seems like Benitez still cannot come up with a winning formula against the top three teams in the BPL...make one wonder how they will really fare if they come up against anyone of them in the CL final....well looks like we won't have to wait long seeing that we have been drawn against Arsenal in the quarter finals...

Compared to Ashley Cole the other day, it was really nothing, unless Mascherano said something...

Hopefully it last...but thou Reina was not his normal self yesterday, must give him credit for those one to one saves he made....if not we would have lost by a bigger margin...

I think generally last nite liverpool have an off day in the office, even after the mind games Rafa played with Fergie & all the hype of being a great game.

Well, we just have to get going & hope liverpool will get something in the champion league wif the gunners.

You Never Walk Alone.
All the way, Reds.:D:D

That's ridiculous. There is no rule as such in football against arguing with the referee. This is not NBA.

Besides you were not at OT. We see only what the cameraman wants us to see. Mascherano ran to the ref because Torres had been fouled and then carded for protesting about persistent fouling.

Football is a game of passion. There's nothing that Mascherano did which was worse than Ashley Cole or John Terry, Wayne Rooney or Ronaldo.

Inconsistency from refs again. That's what's ruining football, not rude players.

Unfortunately as the commentators themselves were second guessing too, most probably Mascherano was made the scape goat for the actions of cole and company..

It can only get better if SG is still with Liverpool . But can say that for Rafa. agreewith some bros here that Rafa still not able to come up with a strategy to deal with the top 3 teams. That is why we are always No 4. Thinking about yesterday's game only can say is that maybe referee kelong. :(

You are going to sack players based on 1 match when we were 1-0 down away against the champions and current leaders?

For that matter, why not sack Babel as well? He was as shite as anyone else on the pitch, and Gerrard for that matter?
