I guess its down to the individual and his circumstances. I think I will get bored staying in one place too long

Yes, that is what I also think - and thus my need to plan my retirement destination carefully whilst I still can. A place which I think will offer the best variety of facilities and services which I like - and probably need - when I will necessarily be less mobile.

The food in Pattaya is awesome! Reminds me of a little like Phuket in the beginning when all the angmos were discovering it. Food business is the easiest to start and make a living(but difficult to make it big). You see authentic food cooked by their countrymen. Italian is big here and its not only about Pizza. Even pizza alone have many versions depending on which region the chef comes from. Much like Penang lak$a vs Singapore lak$a vs Thai lak$a

I hear good Greek , Italian , Russian , Jap , Korean , French , Mexcian , americian , English resturants all the time. Off course add thai food to the mix and you'll never be lost for what to eat there!

One reason i prefer pattaya is the size. The mongering area is so big, you will always find something within means or taste. Patong is only so small and Phuket town is a cab ride away with nothing inbetween.

My friend went to Patong Phuket during the cny period when all the political mess was in Bangkok. All the chinese tour groups were diverted there. He bought a banana prata for ..... 100b off a road side cart! Thats sgd4!
