Bro FS69,

Taxi are not readily available in Cambodia. What they have is Tuk Tuk or Motordup (Motorcycle taxi)

It is no adviseable to go by Tuk tuk or motordup at night cos they might bring u somewhere else or rob u. Most poeple would book a car for whole day use but that is normally calculated 8hr of usage during the day and u have to negotiate the OT.

However, there is a new taxi service in town. u call call them 011 311 888 to come pick u. The best thing with this cab is that it charge by meter. 4000 riels (about U$1 for the first 2km). if u want the taxi to wait, u have to negotiate with the driver.

Personally, I'll take a MotoTaxi to and from (unless got pick up then back by Tuk Tuk coz can save me heaps of $$$ for the ladies) but if you're not too familiar with the city yet, better follow Bro Camwar's advice and book a cab for the "entire" day...And yes, most charge by the 8hrs mark.

Btw, I haven't hear of cab going by meter in PHN...This is a first for me too, Bro Camwar :p


I dun pay for LD at most just buy them a few drinks @ the bar prices, so I dunno. For ST/LT stay, I usually speak directly with the girls (although some of them do have their OKT with them :)

I'm torn between luxury and convenient now
I plan to stay at himawari cos I like th big apt and nice view can really enjoy there on the balcony but on the other hand it's not so convenient for night out, I was thinking trying another hotel which is convenient .

Yes, the meter taxi just started recently.

LD - each establishment have different rules.

Cat House LD is U$3.30 per drink.
Shanghai Bar LD is U$1.00 above the normal bar price of the drink.
Sharky Bar LD normal bar price
& etc....

some place the hostesses are really aggressive in asking for drink, sometime has to tell them NO.

Btw, Himawari is not a bad place coz rooms are nice and clean and have great view of the river...Another place to stay in Sunway lor...Not as nice (room wise) but closer to Casa.

Then, they're those $20/nite room by the river or if you're free rich...The Amanjaya Pancam hotel :D

thks bro, i was considering le Royal Raffles /Amanjaya/PP hotel but i like the rooms at himawari with a view, the amanjaya will be my next trip target but the hotel is just 3-4 storey and the balconies face the main road, not a good place to have some intimate times :) hehehe

Raffles is too damn ex , starting frm US$165/night with special discount

If you have some local friends, get them to book for you. They normally give 30% to 40% corporate discount if its not a high season. :)

All my dear bros, I am working in PP for 5 months now, few places mentioned by the bros are true, however now the Viet girl price is US$70 at Casa, $60 at 99.
Many pubs at the riverside, all Khmer, $40 LT (provided they like you) some are cute but a bit dark skin.
Damage for a night with one case of bear (bottle) approaximately $75 us plus girl charge $10 at Casa and $ 6 at 99.
Mega and PP hotel expensive not worth it.
If you like Khmer best place is X2, young and sweet. I heard it is slightly more expensive than Casa.
Do not go to XO, this is for local high ranking official hang out, they spoil the market.
In case you need help at PP, I will be glad to help as fellow country man.

How much for a ride into town from the airport on a moto ?
