i seriously like alonso.. i think he is quite good but dunno y benitez jus dun like him.. o well...

oh well, i used to think that when i saw vieira play for the gunners in the early stages of his career when he was just signed from ac milan. he was falling all over, mistiming tackles, his long trailing legs catching others, unintentionally or otherwise. arsene stuck with him and gave him the license to go make mistakes until he learned... momo is the same kind of player and bear in mind he is still young and have much to learn and improve... it was a sad day for me to see momo go, despite the fact that he wasnt doing so well for liverpool then... ;)

All's left, Keane for us....
i suspect if berbatov is going to manure, they will not release keane then... too much of a gamble for spurs to be left with darren bent as their only recognised striker. hmm... maybe, they r the ones who r bidding for aguero.;)

I see that twat MON is still faithfully updating the press over the now very public Barry transfer saga.

He is getting desperate lah. Afraid he will be stuck with a disgruntled player if we pull out. Note too that Alonso seems to be staying so MON is looking like a fool now over his rough house tactics.

Let's just wait and sign Barry at our own price.

Sigh, IndyMac, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, with the American financial markets in such turmoil, I think the 2 yankees dun have the money for us to buy any world-class players. It's mid-July soon with the new season 1 month away. Rafa has always wanted to settle his transactions asap so that the new players can join us for pre-season. I really doubt we can afford much this season.

Don't get your hopes too high guys. Higher expectation, greater disappointment.

so maybe the US financial meltdown will provide another good opportunity for DIC to buyout the Yankees. then Rafa will have more cash to buy players.

Rafa, with his hands tied up,running on a tight budget,i doubt he willing to pay that additional 1-2 mil to buy Barry. Actuali,Alonso is quite gd for the team already...why sell? Someone go tell Hicks if he wants the damn premiership title, better splash out the $$.I would love to see Silva or Villa at Anfield!

certainly, hope the 2 yanks do realize if they dun have the $$ pls sell, anyway i doubt any of them knows our history.

and if DIC is as they claim, fans of the club, i guess their take over might give us the economy power to get the players we need.

well momo did play well in the initial year, its only after the boot in the eye incident that his performance starts to go down hill, and its sad to see him play prior to his transfer, always making mistake, losing ball, but he is always full of running. wish him well for his stint with juve though.

well, i guess barbetov will sign for manure, abd d bent is also rumour to be signing for some other club, tat leaves spurs with only keane as their senior striker, but it seems spurs are planning for life with a totally new strike force in the coming season, and i wont be surprise they bid for aguero, also read they interested in diego milito, plus santa cruz....well, liverpool certainly needs a solid winger though....

Same old story for dunno how many seasons. We thought Pennant was our answer. Then Babel and Benyanoun. Solid wingers don't come cheap and the Yankees are tied up. They even loaded our club with so much debt. I really don't think they got money for shopping.

Don't say DIC... I think even Thaksin is better for us.

Pennant, looks good when he was with birmingham, runs with the ball to byeline alot, but....when crossing, sometimes can even reach the corner flag....and not to say scoring, only remember his goal against chelsea at Anfield.

Benyanoun, to me more of a attacking mid then winger though, he is a smart player, but not a traditional winger.....

Babel, well, give him more time, but i guess he would prefer a more central role then on the wing......

sighz....yankees.....yankees.....wat to say abt them rite......

I think this rumour is a load of bull. Probably a pressure tactic to force Rafa into bidding higher than he initially wanted to. Why would Arsenal buy Barry? Considering Wenger's typical transfer policy, the guy a) hardly ever buys English except for Walcott, b) barry's not young enough and c) costs way too much.

MON needs funds to bolster his squad. Liverpool can do without Barry. I say let's just play the waiting game since we can still do without barry. Eventually, villa will have to sell to raise funds and the price of 18 million would have to come down.

U will like this don u?

Rafael van der Vaart has again written off reports of a move to Real Madrid as “speculation”, but he admitted he would leave Hamburg should an offer arrive from an “absolutely top-class side”.
Van der Vaart’s contract runs until 2010, although he can leave the club for as little as 1.5 million euros in 12 months’ time.
Rafael Van der Vaart is one hell of a midfielder, one of the best set piece takers and he’s pretty hot at crossing the ball and scoring long range efforts also. Basically he is just the kind of player every club wants! Do Anfield fans think that Rafa should try his luck with a cheeky bid to test the water, surely he’s a better signing that Gareth Barry!

From ur point of view, seemed like we are without absolute top-class player .. on the bench..... hahah.
Actually if we were to givE one of them a chance with alot of appearances,
who will u give priority to?

I'd vote for Benayoun. :D He is a thinking player. I like. He can run like no tomolo.

Even when he gotten his form, he knows his job. Guess how many red cards he has been rewarded thru his arse career? ha!

I like Sisoko too. Funny chap, never fail to laughw hen he is ard. :D
I admit I never fancy Dirt Kyut in our team, I watch him when he played in Holland, his goals were mostly like cmi goals he didnt even know is coming...... but nevertheless he is here, woah, he become quite solid on the right.

So things really are hard to predict till we have him in.....

Benni is a very talented player but boss thinks he's kinda fragile to withstand the rigours of the EPL. Tats why he seldom gives Benni a full runout preferring to use him as a "supersub".

Efforts to help him beef up his frame is complicated by the fact that he is deeply religious and does not follow the prescribed diet. He fasts every sunday and will not do any training or football on that day even if an important match is coming up and boss wants everyone down to the training ground. Even non physical sessions like having tactical discussions or watching football videos are a no no for Benni if it's scheduled on sunday.

Of course boss will then drop him if he doesn't turn up for the sunday session.
