its all government fault
those batam people are mostly very warm and friendly
some brothers here think they are robbers or thieves
because they are all in tourist spots
just like ...you put sugar you attract ants
initially i thought that too
but after visiting my relatives...i was wrong
and those trouble makers are not from batam
you try places like nongsa which far from town
its alot of different

Batam is a haven for migrants from many parts of Indonesia, mainly from Padang.(taci supirs)

It's such a shame that things had and are turning unkind in terms of attitude towards dollars.

The scene of Batam is keep changing. Just heard from Batam FM. Hotel Puri Garden is changing its name to Neathill or Nahill hotel??? Yet to confirm. Cheongsters take note.

Change of Hotel name are Mandarin Hotel to Goodway Hotel, Hotel Pelangi to Batam Travel Hotel and some others. Hotel 81 is also gone. Why is the change of ownership? Business is bad or due to economical reason?

After the casinos have closed down. Many KTVs and foodcourts have also closed due to less visitors from S’pore. Some popular KTVs like Bovo Club, Rio Rita, Mutiara (beside Puri Garden Hotel), Aloha (at Holiday Hotel), Crown KTV (now Crown Massage Ctr) and especially Dwi Crown KTV which is a very convenient place to cheong bcos Intan Hotel is just beside and Penuin Foodcourt (now still there but closed for about 4 years if I am not wrong) is just behind and Indo-Thai massage is just nearby. Just to name a few.

So at no time, not only OKI foodcourt is gone. A1 is going soon. Fate of Nagoya Foodcourt is unpredictable. Who knows, all KTVs, massage centre, fish-tank joints, will one day move out of town.

As I observe that many visitors with family and tours are coming to batam to have a clean holiday. And who know, the batam governor might clean up the place. So bros, happy time might soon be gone. Cheong now or never. Good luck to all bros

YES!!!! totally agree. The locals know better not to offend outsiders as they depend on them for a living.

But if you go to more rural areas, things are more different. Batu Merah( area of Bugis), Batu Aji( more malays), etc... Tanjung Piyau( locals),

Puri Gardens changing name? Have not hear it yet. But Mandrin hotel change to Goodway was a long time ago, becos of haunting issue.... After that, it got no more haunting issue.

Yes, many things have changed in Batam, the plot of land in Batu Ampar is changing fast too. In front of Harbour Bay, there are going to be plenty of developments.

Nagoya and Jodoh is still the centre for cheonging, and will be for time to come. Old joints may close, but new ones will open, with newer facilities, and cleaner too.

Also, just to note that Batam is still the transit centre for many Indos, to singapore or to other parts of indonesia..

Migrants from other parts of Indonesia? Yes, As long as there is economic opportunity, they will come.

this one propably from the former melia panorama.the pink building, pelangi hotel, majestic at the back of it seems to be still occupied by swallows and to the left is tg pantun pasar, one of the very first 'modern traditional pasar' in batam built around 1981....
oasis hotel, the white building right at the back next to the hills, was one of the great lost.good sized rooms, ammenities etc.houses the original titanic ktv..closed about 4yrs ago.

Bro, sharing the same sentiment. To name a recent one, is Bougaville, anybody still remember Bougaville which Pak P has great time there just few months ago, what an honour ?! (I seriously suspect is Pak P who made the place closed forever! )

Puri garden renamed to Neathill? No problem. As long as not Nutshill no big issue. Approved! by MOS!

Hotel 81 maybe the boss like 2000 better (is 81 the former name?).

As for Nagoya foodcourt, I think still standing still cause it is known for quite sometime, wouldn't close down so soon but heard going to be competitive soon cause some foodcourt going to be opened nearby soon!

Life is so unpredictable. So do bonk! Remember 1 month ago, most of the joints are like heaven and now this month like graveyard (no gals, no visitors, not so many to be exact). Last time also got Persona, Island Garden KTV (which for some bros can have some rare gems, ocassionally), "real" Titanic which located at Ozon hotel (even the hotel is a rundown place nowadays. Imagine I play FPS with all the cewek zombies there! :D Shiok! with my lit bro be my plasma gun! ), another one I forgot the name is a joint in front of Sedona (now Gold Bird), start with B something. Last time even at Noname Karaoke can book gal! :( Now no more. Even Goodway got some high class cewek last time. Now also gone.

Good observation for the family trip to batam. I also observed some chio gals travelling to Batam from Sinkapore.

I am emo.

I think this month I have to stack more cooking oil and have faith on my both hands.

Puri Garden changing names??not too sure but the plot behind them which supposing to be the Tang Village is to be redeveloped by Malaysian group IBN into a 28story apartment+hotel+shopping.

Change of Hotel name are Mandarin Hotel to Goodway Hotel, Hotel Pelangi to Batam Travel Hotel and some others. Hotel 81 is also gone. Why is the change of ownership? Business is bad or due to economical reason?

all of the above,i guessed....interest rates for bank loans here are a staggering 16%plus,add the taxes, elect bills....a better picture now??

a normal course of city/business re-vitalisation....if old one go then new ones will come...just like HDB's MUP

So at no time, not only OKI foodcourt is gone. A1 is going soon. Fate of Nagoya Foodcourt is unpredictable. Who knows, all KTVs, massage centre, fish-tank joints, will one day move out of town.

A1 land leased is coming up for renewal soon..its was given to the boss for his contributions during the 'red wars' during the 60's..the local govt may up the duties or decides not to extend the lease altogether as its on prime location.foodcourt is confirmed to go as the boss decides to redeveloped it into a shopping street....Nagoya Walk.fish tanks going???sintai at bt aji maybe a good sample for things to come if they're really going!!

As I observe that many visitors with family and tours are coming to batam to have a clean holiday. And who know, the batam governor might clean up the place. So bros, happy time might soon be gone. Cheong now or never. Good luck to all bros

Agree..things has become more sanitised and 'orderly';asphat roads, road lamps etc compared to 5yrs back..but hoping the batam governor might clean up the place???they have just cleaned up the batam governor...:D:cool:

Re: Batam Info Thread

Was over there on Friday. Touched down at Harbour Bay at about 4 plus in the afternoon. Was heartened to see a healthy sized group of single men on the ferry. Maybe things had lightened up somewhat I thought - boy was I majorly wrong!

As the afternoon was devoid of sunshine, I decided to walk my way into town. I trudged from the ferry terminal until I reached Bourgainville. I had set my mind towards engaging the lass recommended by Pak P. Guys, I'm sorry to report that although the sign still displayed Bourgainville, it appears that the place had shut down and is undergoing some major renovation. Anyone has any idea where all the ceweks in that stable had moved to?

All the pick up joints had their shutters drawn shut as reported by bro Lextaxy... I was hoping to get some action via the backdoor. At Queens, I noticed a guy sitting on a bike outside. As I approached, he stood up, drew the sliding gates aside and disappeared into the joint. I would've followed had he not drawn the gates after him. At Indah 2, the backdoor was open but there were no ceweks in sight. 3 gals sat at the back lane and asked me if I was looking for company. They said only one was available, pointing to one of their friends. She wasn't a sight to behold, seemed disinterested, and worst off, appeared flat chested. Fcuk it I said. I rather wank myself off.

Ended up taking a massage at Madurani after some 90mins of recce. Lady said she "puasa" so that just about sums up any intention to get dirty. Took the 90mins session at 90k rupiah. She offered me Urut Batin for a total of 200k rupiah. Hoping to release some steam, I agreed. Bros into the massage scene, can advise if I paid too much for the "nuts rub"? I thought she was gonna jack me off but after some nudging and rubbing, she said she was done. And I didn't even have an erection.

Something told me to call it quits and I left for Singapore. A most uneventful outing I must say. Will descend on Batam with a vengeance after the fasting month is over!

Sorry brother, you went at the wrong time. THings should get better in next week. When the frenzy slows down, they have to eat also!

Even after fasting month, it will take about 2 weeks before things go back to normal, with new batch of WLs.
