strange enough, liverpool has yet to score in the first half in the EPL, except for the wes brown og.
many of the goals come very late so all the liverpool fans dont despair as its not over till its over :)

I was really surprised at the come back after 2 goals down...never thought they could muster up the same fighting spirit shown in Istanbul and the FA Cup final against W.Ham..always thought this would be a once in a blue moon performances...but it seems that clawing back from goals down and winning has become to be a regular feature in Liverpool game this season..thou I personally felt Alonso and Aurelio both had a lousy match...

Play in the 1st half was pathetic I felt and we din take our chances well... and should anyone were to tell me that the final score would be 2-2? I'd have settle for it... BUT a 2-3 scoreline is even better!! For a moment, when Torres missed out on his chance to score his
3rd goal.. I thot 2-2 so be it lah... but Kuyt... he finally broke his own goal drought... Phew... Hope Syrtel's injuiry isnt that bad though... Time for Agger and Hyppia to step in as capable replacement... Rock on LFC!!

PS: Me only have 1 eye on the big match w Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in 3 weeks time. To me, getting a good result could be the big result here.

Shit! I missed the second half...I thought it was well over when Man City scored the second goal :( I switched to my DVD movies to get the doldrums off my head watching Liverpool trailing at half time....When I switched back to Astro, and I happened to catch a glimpse of the match table...wowee, I couldn't believe it that LFC is still with 17 points behind Chelsea on goal difference:eek: That means LFC had beaten Man City ..What a fight back.

Keep it up Reds.

Agger will be relishing this opportunity :p
actually Agger is not a bad player and hes
one of the reasons why Liverpool's last season defence are abit suspect when he got the metatarsal injury...
anyway ,i hope martin will not be out for the rest of the season.... ;)

Sure Agger will take this opportunity & show Rafa that he is still the player that Liverpool miss during last season's matches.

Anyway Skrtel will be out for a couple of months with the serious injury suffer last nite. Agger & Hyypia will have to share the games btw them for this period.

Agger's ability and skills has never been in doubt.
Hope he does not get poach during the Jan transfer window.
Hyypia is a great player but however age has catch up with this loyal servant.
This year will be great to cap it with the title. :D

my heart cannot take it if we keep on doing these type of comeback.
if we can maintain this type of never say die performance and remain thru the season, maybe our years of waiting will be over soon.

What's wrong with that? We were 2-0 up by the end of the first half. Rafa knows PSV have to attack us to get something out of last night's match. He probably instructed us to play the quick counter-attacking game to exploit the gaps that will surface when PSV attacks.

On the other note, we USED to have this line of thought that Liverpool will perform badly in the EPL match after a mid-week Champions League. By sitting back, we are conserving some energy for the weekend match against Man City perhaps? Remember we drew 0-0 against Stoke after our last CL match against Marseille. We did look a bit lerthargic in that match.

Xiu Xi Shi Wei Le Zou Gen Chang De Lu... Hmm did i get my hanyu pin yin correct? (It means taking a rest now is for the journey ahead) for non-chinese bros.

Why shouldn't we care? 2 of our top 4 rivals will have weakened squads. Isn't that good news for us? They drop points, we will find it easier to establish ourselves at the top. I'm waiting for Reira to hit top form... I think he will score through a wickedly dipping cross-cum shot from the left.

1)thats a dangerous game to play if psv got 1 back than we wld have been in big trouble 2 nil up is never safe.2)i don t want to sit in the coffeeshop n listen to the fair weather fans of the scums n chelski say we r top cos they have players out with injury.we want to be up there loking dwn on them with all thier players avaiable.:p

Thanks for explaining your view. Can understand your different view. :p As for injuries, we should also remind the fair weather fans of our 2004/05 season where alonso broke his leg (chelsea's lampard, we had no cover for alonso) and when cisse broke his leg (when we got to rely on youngsters like mellor and sinama-pongolle). Our season suffered as a result of these injuries. Alonso was playing superbly then. Last year, our season suffered when Agger broke his leg and Hyypia got to cover so many games before Srktel came.

Hard to beat Man U and Chelsea with all their players available this year, i think, as they have so many 30 plus year old players whose bodies just take turns breaking down.

Does anyone have our 25 man CL squad details? I know Hyypia is out as there is a british quota. Is Jack Hobbs in the squad? Who's the cover for central defender now that srktel is out? Jack Hobbs right?

As we head off for the international break, thought i just share this youtube video with you guys to commemorate Gerrard's goals with us. I personally think his best season for us was in 2003/04 when he single-handedly lifted us to a CL spot. Since then, Rafa doesn't allow him to roam as much.

Think our 25 man squad for the CL should look something like this here....

Goalkeepers
(1) Diego Cavalieri
(25) Pepe Reina
(34) Martin Kelly

Defenders
(2) Andrea Dossena
(5) Daniel Agger
(12) Fábio Aurélio
(17) Álvaro Arbeloa
(23) Jamie Carragher
(27) Philipp Degen
(32) Stephen Darby
(36) Steven Irwin
(37) Martin Škrtel

Midfielders
(8) Steven Gerrard
(14) Xabi Alonso
(15) Yossi Benayoun
(16) Jermaine Pennant
(20) Javier Mascherano
(21) Lucas
(26) Jay Spearing

Forwards
(7) Robbie Keane
(9) Fernando Torres
(11) Albert Riera
(18) Dirk Kuyt
(19) Ryan Babel
(24) David N'Gog
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the list of defenders here... looks like Agger should be the choice to partner Carragher in centre for CL matches from now onwards and of cos, pray that he would not get injured from now (if never better still) til at least when Škrtel is back)... or Rafa may be forced to deploy Arbeloa in the centre if caught in extreme and desperate situations? Hope better not... cos Arbeloa is not cut as a centre back (at least thats what I reckon). Guess now Rafa would have to use Hyypia more for EPL and cup matches so as not to wear out Agger or even Carragher... my 2 cents worth of comments...:D

Dun be surprised if Rafa's new blue eyed boy Stephan Darby is ranked ahead of Hyypia :D

No insua or hobbs? I thought Insua did well in the matches he played in the latter stages of last season's EPL.

Anyway, Santa came early for us.

Source: Soccernet Skrtel to be back in action by Christmas
Liverpool have revealed defender Martin Skrtel does not need an operation on his right knee and should return to action by Christmas.

The Slovakian centre-back damaged his posterior cruciate ligament in Sunday's 3-2 win at Manchester City and had a scan this afternoon.

Reds spokesman Ian Cotton said: "Martin was examined by a specialist today, who confirmed the player does not require surgery and is expected to be back playing by Christmas.''

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez will undoubtedly be buoyed by the news although he is confident the likes of Sami Hyypia and Daniel Agger can fill the breach adequately.

"Everyone can see that the understanding between Martin and Carra is becoming really good,'' Benitez told the club's website, Liverpoolfc.tv.

"To lose a player who is doing well is always a problem. It's bad news, but we have other options.

"Martin has learned a lot. He already had good qualities and potential when we decided to bring him here.

"We had a lot of confidence in him but you can always improve, especially playing alongside experienced players and working under the staff here. He has done that.

"He has given me a selection headache this season but that is a good problem for me as a manager.''

Agreed with you on that would love to be top of the league with all those scums and chelski players fit, but seriously, i dun give a damn on wat those 'fans' think, view or said, simply put, which team dun have injuries, and if their team cant cope with those injuries, just too bad then rite,

and can we complain abt the stoke decision, the goal tat was strike off? or abt the penalty tat chelski was given last season?

hope you are not offended bro. just my views.
