Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Torres likely to return tonite:

ESPNsoccernet - Preview: Liverpool vs West Brom - English Premier League

Torres is certainly Pool's best signing for a striker over so many many years.

Since d 1990s, d foreign strikers we signed r some kinda flops. their scoring is inconsistent, n doesnt have tt special killer touch like Torres, Rooney, Drogba.

Apart fr prodigal sons like Fowler n Owen, d other strikers did nt live up to expectations - Keane, Voronin, Crouch, Heskey, Clough (Nigel), Anelka, Diouf, Rosenthal (Ronnie), Camara (Titi), Collymore, Smicer, Morientes, Le Tellac, Pongolle

Cant remembr further names liao. i guess d above topic had been mentioned many many times liao. Pool fans oso wonder y it is so difficult for Pool to find a gd striker. Anelka went to Chelsea, he is playing well n scoring. Drogba too, at least for past seasons. Johnson did a gd job for Everton. MU always seem to b able to sign excellent strikers - Cantona, RVN, fat roon. Wigan's Zaki been making some headlines tis yr with few goals.

Finally Torres is our long awaited answer. Hope Rafa can find anthr lethal striker who can compliment Torres. hope Kuyt is our answer. he's playing better now, seems to b finding his scoring touch too. read rumours tt Owen may come bk but then he is injury prone n nt wat he was used to b in his hey days.

We won 6-0 last season too. I forgot who, maybe Derby. I think tonight will be 3-0. Torres is back hopefully. Looking at the Man U- Arsenal result, it's fantastic for us. If we win tonight, Arsenal will be 6 points behind us. Even if Man U wins their next match, they will still be 5 points behind us if we win tonight.

Come on you reds!

sorry, manure's next game should be against stoke. they now have the ability to park the bus in front of goal and hold out for a goalless draw. plus, the stoke players r very physical and these guys should know how to infuriate the manure players. so, i have the niggling feeling that next week is going to be another good weekend.:D thanks robbie keane and samir nasri;)

big test for liverpool in the next match though. bolton is rejuvenated with 2 straight wins and they too like to play physical footy. enjoy the rest of the weekend. cheers.

I agree with your assessment as I feel Stoke is a hard team to play. The way they attack throw-ins are hard to defend. They are the only team to beat Arsenal with throw-ins. :D Really hard to defend lar. Who knows if Man U can cope or not, especially when their defence also prone to silly mistakes. Hope to see a classic from Van Der Sar next weekend.

True, bolton will not be easy but we'll have torres back by then. With the way we are passing these days, there is hope in my heart. Great result for us last night. Got to give credit to WBA for coming to Anfield to play football.

a double by Keane sent us to the top.
his first EPL's goal for us.

next Wednesday - 12 Nov 08,we will have the chance to revenge the defeat by Spurs in the English Carling Cup at White Hart Lane.
can we do it ???
Yes,We Can !!!

Liverpool will prove that the last defeat to spurs was just bad luck for them.
We will beat Spurs at their turf & avenge the loss by winning tremendously.

Nasri sure fit right in. Good buy. And Cheap buy.
And now ALonso is linked there...........................................

It will be crazie to sell. :o can u imagine a spanish midfield pair? a long ball sprayer, 1 direct short baller and can score. 2 hard tackler. Would love to see this pairing, but hate to see alonso leave. sigh....

im glad i got it wrong tis time. tot Pool will struggle with a 1-0, at most 2-0 win. even asked my fren in jest to buy d +2.5 but luckily he oso Pool fan n nvr heeded my words. :p

after a goaless 30 mins i tot my prophecy was goin to cum true. luckily Keane hit form with 2 1H goals! imagine, had 1H been goaless, it may get increasingly difficult for Pool in 2H as d clock ticks. Keane's 2nd goal was confident n classy ... hope tis will boost his confidence n lead to more goals.

No point lar. With the way things are now, I doubt Spurs will field their strongest team. They will probably want to ensure their survival in the BPL first. And I doubt Rafa will field a full 11 too. Our regulars have played a lot of matches this season. If we want revenge, we must beat their full 11. Probably when they come visit Anfield.

No lar. I don't bet. As with all gamblers, out of 10 times, I get the score correct 1 time only. And that's if I'm lucky like the 3-0 prediction. Plus betting on Liverpool is weird for me, if I bet 3-0 and Liverpool scores 4-0 or 8-0, am I supposed to be happy or sad? Or partially happy?

find it hard to believe Harry's magic but gotta accept reality - Spurs' revival continues as they edged out ManC 1-2. much has been said tt Spurs' results in d past few matches had been attributed to luck. tonite they had to thank ManC for d 2 silly red cds.

if Pool fields their 2nd stringers agt Spurs 1st team, i thk we may b in trouble. ever since Harry came, they had some kinda rejuvenation, zest, spirit ... whatever u call it ... very hard to beat.

well, give those second stringers some playing experience is also good.
hope we can win here.
