I personally have seen one with HD90... very real... but if careful enough... you will find the 100 (on the bottom left corner) does not change color... real one will change from green to blue if you tilt the note.... cheers...

Hehe... I also have two such notes....similar to wat U hv mentioned.

One from an angmoi client of mine who got his 100rmb sway by a cashier in a mid high end department store in Dong Men SZ.

The other one fm a Sporean friend who also got swap by a small shop keeper also in Dong Men....

So better be careful when shopping esp SZ n GZ..... many fake notes flying around.....

I guess we'll just have to be extra careful in future when changing with money changer or when we visit China. ;)

Very true many fake notes floating around....mainly 100 n 50 rmb bill.

In spore almost all money changer now got a RMB rmb screening/counting machine.... make sure the money we got pass thru that in front of our eyes before accepting it. Same goes MC else wherever we change rmb.

Believe me the fake is NOT easy to spot.....

i usually try to minimise touching actual notes, usually remit $ to my RMB acc

then withdraw n use from china

this works only for those who open a RMB acc in china

I withdrew 1000rmb twice in a row from a ATM in SZ and got 2 fake notes back in 2004:eek:

According to the Sing Law, u are supposed to hand it over to the police as possession alone is an offence. Not sure about Dragonland. However, if kenna caught with possession, best thing to do is to say u don't know they are fake. Don't say u know they are fake and are keeping them for souvenirs. Like that u can kenna charge.

yes .. it helps .... but the second way to detect a fake Chinese banknote is most effective .... scratch the hair of Chairman Mao on the note.... you can feel the hair on a real banknote. But on a fake banknote, the hair can not be felt ...
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-...00_1_small.jpg

another way is make sure u do not received any 100rmb starting with HD90xxx and HQxxx ..
though we do spotted counterfeit notes starting with SAxxx and SQxxxx ..

one sure way is to feel the notes ... the counterfeit notes feel like digital copier paper .. it doesn't have the softness of the real notes ...

i was con of 2 counterfeit notes by the cab driver ...
they r very fast ... they literally change my 100rmb into a counterfeit ones right under my nose ...

as a matter of fact ... i realise cab drivers in china r the culprits in circulating counterfeit notes ... most shops and hotels checked all the notes when they receive it and when they return back to u, they make sure u r aware that it's not counterfeit ...
the 公安 should clamp down on these cab drivers ...

it's best not to carry the counterfeit notes once u've received it ...
i kept the 2 notes in my hotel safe ... i dun want to mistakenly gave them to someone else and get into any trouble ...
and it's great shame to us if we give them to meimei's though i must said it's the easiest way to get rid of it ... but it's not a right thing to do and is very non ethnic ...

u r welcome, bro ...
we r here to share our experiences .... that's what this forum is abt ...

my advise is to have loose change for cab rides ...
DUN give 100rmb to the cab driver ...
but if u have to .... read out to him the serial number of the 100rmb note before u hand it over to him ....
this is to let him know that u r aware of their dirty tricks ...

loose change also need to be wary, cos i heard from mm that even in market they also give u fake 10/20/50 notes

so u have to use the method by adidas to check all the notes that u have on hand
