Was in HCM over the Christmas and New Year period.

I stayed at Silverland Hotel and Spa along Le Thanh Thon.

I was staying in the same hotel. Thanks for the contribution.

My first 2 nights were not fun as I do not have much "intel" about hcmc. So a newbie there.
Last night, I got to Mz Club and the bar tenders are pretty. Managed to hook up with 2, got their contact and hope to see if my next trip will be happening.

Left Mz drunk.

No shots fired at hcmc.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask...

I have a Vietnamese female friend who wants to visit Singapore for a few days. However, she is now very scared to come because her friend was turned back at the airport by ICA just a few days ago. Her friend is a accountant coming here on a short shopping trip. The reason for her refusal of entry: being ineligible for the issue of pass under current immigration policies. (She sent me photo of her friend's entry refusal note.)

Is this an isolated incident or a wide spread thing due to change of entry criteria for Vietnamese nationals? Anyone known of similar incidents or have info to share? Thanks.

(If this is due to new immigration policies, how come I am still seeing a lot of VBs in pubs and KTVs. Further, these girls come stay here for at least a month while the lady above only comes for a few days. What shall I advise my friend?)

Not that i know of. People who are coming in for business or leisure should not have problem at ICA.

Your details are not sufficient to understand situation. Things ICA would ask is reason for visit, where you are staying, how much money are you carrying and do you have a return ticket? If vb are not able to answer any of the above questions to a satisfactory level, 99% would be turn back.

E.g. if a tourist is coming to singapore for 4 days, has only $100 sg no credit cards no hotel address, do you think ICA would believe?

And lastly the most famous rejection reason is ICA is not bound to share details of rejection of entry to singapore.

I could be wrong; but this had been my observations from working in the airport and travel industry previously.

That is correct. In most border crossings (ie customs checkpoint), the officer is king and he is entitled to err on the side of caution with no reprimand from his superiors. If the visitor has hotel bookings, return ticket, sufficient funds, there is no reason to turn her back.

But bear in mind Tet is just around the corner and many WLs are desperate to make some last minute quick bucks in SIN so that they have the "face" to return to their kampung with iphones, ipads etc. And the customs are aware of this.

Hi Bros,
Been in HCMC for about a month plus and staying at Phu Nhuan district. Been following H88 DIY guide and havent really gotten very far. Will be here for a year for work but cannot bring ST back to apartment as other colleagues stay with me. Been trying to find somewhere with FJ at the MP itself but no luck so far. Any bros can help introduce alittle? would be greatly appreciated. Dont mind hanging out on weekends too.

Nothing new...even singaporeans are prone to this showing off...only vb sometimes go to the extreme...

U want a regular FB or just someone for fj...if you are there for 1 year, fine. Pick up the language and go cafe or your local food store fishing...you r at source, the pickings are ripe. How i wish i am posted to vn...i would have a field day

And dun hang around where all the ang mo or visitors go...

And install zalo. much better than wechat in vietnam. VB with wechat 100% have worked overseas.

nothing new. got a vb of my ex kena stopped at airport in the queue at immigration (not even at ica counter); kena questioned and rejected entry.

Perception of person within first 10s also make up ICA mind. The best part is when they review immigration card and find all the cards are of the same writing and same address...ICA are not that dumb.
