You are optimistic about the results going our way - I think it's all over if City don't stop the Scum in some way. Good thing is City's form have improved recently but it is still away at OT.

Hope you are right

better gloat more... not many chances for u to do so.;)

as u can see, i m always optimistic, actually. many times, i would criticise the players (even gerrard and torres cant escape my chastising), but u will never see me whining about losing the title here. to see liverpool playing the way they ought to be, is enough. to see them improving every single season under rafa is enough. the titles would come, eventually. but get rid of me here, no one can.:p

city's form is of no concern here. when it comes to the manchester derby, the whole city of manchester will be painted blue and the city players will raise themselves to win or die trying on the "old toilet" field. it is either a slim win by manure or a trouncing by city. and judging from what i see, i like the odds.

If you are optimistic bro, then give Lucas a chance la. He is neither Stevie, Mascher nor Alonso but needs to be given the support to develop his own role in midfield. He has scored two recently but had many more chances eh ;)

I said in earlier post I like the way we are playing. When the pressure of the title race has fallen on us, we have done well in the 2nd half of the season, winning most of our games since the Scum game, except for the unfortunate draw with Arse and the one man show Asharvin.

Next season we could go two ways - either build on what we have achieved or fall away to top 4 mediocrity again. I hope the former of course but let's not forget we came back to draw or win matches so many times this season - 17? - and most of them very late goals. We need to maintain the same mentality and confidence, to always go for three points and play with confidence and pace, then we will be able to build on this season, which is really a breakout one for me.

And of course, a world class attacking player - either striker or winger - to back up Stevie and Torres will be paramount. The team is quite settled now and that is working great for us - except for Riera, we played most of the season with the same team as last season (less the players who left actually)! :p

it didnt help us that Stevie G & Torres had so little matches playing together...heard the commentator mention they started like only 11 games? out of 35 matches so far...that really hurt us

It's really disappointing cos in previous seasons, we had Stevie and Torres (last season) fit for the most part and Rafa chose to concentrate on the CL. We did have Keane of course but he's the most underwhelming transfer in recent memory and Babel was a step down from last season.

as i have said, lucas is lacking in confidence. he must be given time to bloom. he can improve and he will improve. even i would improve if i m training with the 3 best midfielders in the world everyday. i just hope that sammy lee would spend more time on him to build up his confidence. otherwise, he might just end up like anderson, full of hot air but nothing to show for.

i liked the arsenal game though. i felt that liverpool should have played that way every single game. how many of the 11 draws would have translated to wins if liverpool played like that??? how often do u see the defenders make such mistakes or were so unlucky??? rarer than the blue moon with regards to the arsenal game. i say, go for it!!!

thus, i agree that it is the way liverpool should play, albeit right from the start of the season.

remember this season's pre-season??? rafa made the players build up their stamina and their physical aspects of the team. late goals r the results. as i have said, the only missing ingredient now is for gerrard and co to taste, just once, the premiership title and u will see the change of a dynasty. there is still a slim chance this season. next season will be pivotal. the next big signing will have to play a very critical part.

no offence, but gareth barry is critical. he should be the 1st signing. MON is already resigned to losing him. if i didnt miss anything, i think barry would be able to leave for 2mil pounds, as it is his final year. dont know if he did extend his contract though. i agree the next signing should be a striker or a winger. aaron lennon would be nice, though his crossing accuracy is a bit suspect. eto'o???:D

yes, riera is still suspect. sometimes he is the lose-ball king, sometimes the ball seemed to be stuck to his feet. but the rest were spectacular. alonso back to his usual best, mascherano is back to what he does best after a minor slump, but benayoun and kuyt!!! they r my candidates for liverpool's player of the year together with alonso. keep them here and with additional inclusions next season, liverpool will run riot.

oh, m i the only one or does anyone out there thinks peter crouch is a good inclusion??? much better than michael owen, in my humble opinion...:p

2m would be a steal but why is Barry top priority? Cos he is cheap? heheh.

Not Crouch la, he's had his chance with us and won't be happy on the bench either. Going to Pompey has shown there is not that much to his game anyway.

I'd say break the bank and get Ashley Young. Of course we will have another run-in with MON but I would take Young over Barry any time ;)

I like the way we are playing now - top scorers in the league, hit the bar 3 times without our top striker and still win 3-0 (albeit against Barcodes who will surely go down now). Never give up and full of self-confidence in getting 3 pts. That's the future of Pool. ;)

Alonso is a cheat. I hope his injury keeps him out of play for atleast 1 year.

Go for d tested n proven Spanish!

so far Pool's contingent of spaniards had done pretty well ... Torres, Alonso, Arbeloa, Reina. Riera's game seem to b improving n had scored some crucial goals.

mayb Rafa can consider adding more quality Spaniards to his collection? eg David Villa, Puyol, Iniesta, Xavi ... :D
