Is the area safe for walking around especially at night?

you meant Tan Dinh Ward District 1...:)

anyway in hcm, you should walk with eyes open...try not to wear expensive watches and talk on phone while walking on the roads...also dun bring along a sling back which can easily snatch by motorbike...also dun bring expensive camera...:)

generally is pretty safe in HCM if you observe the rules...:)

Antique Street

Antique Street is definitely worth visiting if you are looking for unique souvenirs and shelf décor. The street has ample amounts of porcelain, brass/bronze, wood carvings, and jade items. Most of the stuff seems to be reproductions. However, there are true antiques scattered throughout. This street is about a five minute walk from the Cho Ben Tanh Market. We also discovered that the sellers on this street have some of the cheapest prices on metal sculptures in the region

When taking xe om (motorbike taxi) and the driver offer to place your bag in front... or carry for u...say NO... there have been cases when he will place his hands in your bag to steal things.
I wonder who died and appointed you class monitor. Anyway u have always accused me of being "stealth agt".... I'm still trying to figure out what that term means... but anyway pls do give us the "links/direct others to show how u uncovered me"... LOL!
I think he has no motives and rather clueless... just lots of time on his hands and the fact that he can only speak ang mor... therefore zero chances in China or Vietnam. Hence he has to leech on the seniors (which explains the extreme ass-lickings).
