TRANSFER NEWS !

The Times claim that Liverpool have had an offer of around £18.5 million accepted for Portsmouth right-back Glen Johnson. The sales of Alvaro Arbeloa (Real Madrid, £8m) and Andrea Dossena (Juventus, £7m) will fund the purchase.

I dont think Johnson is worth such money...
If he can command 18.5mil pounds then Stevie G should be value around 100times more?! :D

Portsmouth still owes Liverpool 11 million pounds for the purchase of Peter Crouch last year...... so the actual cash layout for Glen Johnson is only 7.5 million :)

So the 7.5 million pounds will be covered by the sale of Arbeloa. Actually, I thought Johnson's supposed to provide competition to Arbeloa. Now that Arbeloa is sold, we still need to buy a cover for right back? Why is Arbeloa being sold so cheaply to Real Madrid? He was a nobody when he came to us. Now he's a full fledged Spanish international. Sigh. I think we should just buy Spanish. English players tend to be expensive and ordinary.

if it's true, then it dun make sense at all.. we buy johnson to fight with arbeloa for the place, not to replace him.. but if i have remember correctly, arbeloa had once wanted to move back to spain due to personal reason..

8mil for a spain international.. tat's cheap.. still think tat the person dealing with transfers in liverpool is being too kind.. should play gangster a bit sometimes... taking advantage of situation and squeeze more out each transfer..

:D:D:D

very tricky, in fact the fixture list is quite similar to last season.

In some good and bad news, it's been reported in UK that Villa will only consider joining Liverpool cos he wants to play with Torres.

Bad news, we can't afford him :(

Looks like Johnson will also be the 3rd highest earner, earning 80k a week.
wow i know he's good, but that good???
Please prove me wrong Glen!

i think he said that he would only leave la liga for england if it was to join us and play for rafa.... :D

so stop dreaming, man utd & cheski fan... but too bad, we can't afford him..

most likely to join barce... not even real can afford him...

latest: barce interested in reina if they fail to get their gk to sign new contract..

reina, aberloa, marcherano, alonso, benayoun, agger... almost all the top clubs r after most of our players.. and of cos incl torres n stevie g, whom no sensible club bother to ask, cos we'll never sell and they'll never want to leave...

even our dossena attracts juve attention... :p

tis shows how far we have progressed these 2 years...
