but in terms of speaking...tieng viet is tougher to learn..:) a bit about social apps and recent ventures...:) I had ventured to meeting with VBs that work in cafes, restaurants, sales, friends intro, etc...actually is easier if you met VBs and then chat on FB, wechat and Zalo..etc..from there you get to know alot of her friends...which you can actually chat...mostly in Tieng Viet...:) decent VBs you need to show up very often otherwise none will take you seriously...if VB interested in you then she will arrange all the programs otherwise she will give you all kinds of excuses...^^ |

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
Yes that's what I meant. It is almost impossible for foreigners to communicate with Thais using their language via Wechat etc unless u lived there and grew up learning taugeh.
For VN, it only took me a year or two to figure out the basics because they use "alphabets". Now I am able to tcss for hours with VBs over Wechat, FB, Zalo etc. Unfortunately, I can write better than I can speak, because the pronunciation varies from Hanoi, Danang, Hue to Saigon and Mekong Delta (mien tay)...many times I am left scratching my head when speaking to village ppl. me too started learning how to read and write 2 years before learning how to speak...always learn the hard way...still learning after all these years...:) think the key test is be able to speak to a hotel reception in tieng viet to book a room and bus company reception to book bus ticket giving name and phone number...and getting the seat number of your booking before you reach, pay and collect the ticket...:) |
Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
Bro jimfairy thanks for ups. Will up u back when I have recovered.
But I think fairer to exchange for VBs with VBs and not VBs for points? These pts I cannot redeem for discounted airfare... :D Quote:
