Hi

Just now manage to change RMB at PPC.

When to a few money changer counter and ask the rate is abt 489 to 490.

Finally change 490 behind OUB bank near the glass door facing the road.

Thanks for the info, I am going next week better go and change now. hehehe

Heard my friend saying can withdraw from the ATM machines but their China ATM withdrawal has a limit for every withdrawal something like rmb2000 maxjper withdrawal so if I need 3K I ahve to do it twice and incur twice the bank charges............

Yesterday 14/12/2009 RMB rate is 489.

It seems that the RMB is going strong so for time being the RMB will not hit 4.95.

Last 2 week i ask the best goes to 4.91.

Mostly all having the same rate, it just depend on yourself which counter u patorize.

Most are giving close to 4.88 or 4.87

The best one only offer me 4.885 near the side entrance

Hello Samsters,

Have went down to PPK today, to change RMB and the rates offerd at SIN $1000 was 4.875 and HKD at 5.50. From my experience the rates towards end week usually lower. Personal experience don quote me. The counter i patronized is located from UOB bank entrance enter on the left small counter facing escalator.

PCC rate at 1130hrs 4.895 ....

Remittance counter inform me that we cannot remit more than US$50,000 in a yr to the same ID person regardless how many bank accounts he/she have ...
is this new regulations ???

Yes, it true. Regardless u are local or foreigner, u can only change USD50,000 to RMB a year. Cos when u do the change, the bank needs the identity card or passport n the authority will keep track of how much u change per year.

True but there are other "remittance service" that provide instance t/t. bascially you need to go to the bank with the agents at both Singapore and China bank. they t/t into your PRC account and yo ut/t into their Singapore account.

I seems to be 2 cents down from actual as the gauge. Well, money changer need to eat also.

Check the exchange rate on the net yesterday. It was 4.91 plus

In order to get 4.91-4.92, the actual will need to be at least 4.94 or so.

It will will not be much of the different if youi just change small amount.

I need to change SIN 5000. I guess I may just drop by in the evening PPC if time permits.

went to parkway and changed. managed to get 4.89 compared to internet rate of 4.91
