Arbeloa moves to Real Madrid is almost complete.
Alonso's future is still uncertain.
The Two Americans had refinanced their loans,so look like they will not be selling their stakes,so no much funds to buy new players.

On the contrary, I am excited about the season and how far we can go. We can't be so unfortunate with key injuries as last season.

I just wished we would have made more money from the sales of Arby and Dossena

Liverpool seem to be winning the Alonso battle, it should resolve by Thursday.

Alonso will stay I think unless Real are playing a game on the 30m transfer fee and will cough it up at the last minute.

If Arb and Doss go, we can use the money to get another striker/winger, or a fullback. We are a bit light in those areas.

Real have the money, they just dont wanna spend it on Alonso which is great!
I'm glad Rafa is playing hard to get

Arby and Dossena's accumulate transfer fee will be roughly 10 million, hard to find good striker with that money, even a clown like Darren Bent is worth 15 million! haha :D

Perez dont rate DM players very well and that well documented by makelele. who wanted a higher wage in line with the star players. of course as we all know he was shipped to chelski.. Im glad rafa WANTS the player to openly state their transfer request. I think alonso is like stuck in 2minds.. to stay on and become a legend( lower wages due to tax rules.. and to check his pride after the incident when rafa try to offload him) or to move to Real where he knows he wont be 1 of the real stars of the team anymore. Real has a whole bunch of highly paid stars and alonso will just be another one in the sky..

but at liverpool he knows that the fans will adore him much much more than at real...

im looking so much to this year... with the oil rich dubai's $$$ i look forward to manc growth. will they overtake manure this year? SInce their own boy wonder has left and SAF resigned our EX* boy wonder now crocked doll ...

and the gunners are going through another transition again!!?? how many of those have they underwent? and chelski pales in comparison to manc now in terms of the cash they use to splash to buy players.. How will angelo turn out? Is he Hiddink in disguise or Scolari once more??..

As for our beloved reds, if we can secure JM+ XA and not have them go anywhere else, and have Torres9 fit for the whole year... + GJ .. im really excited about the season ahead.. :D

we have alot of positives to look forward to.

Riera,Benayoun and Kuyt seem to be improving and will be a big part of the team's success.

Skrtel and Agger competing for a place with Carra will be great options for Rafa too.

the only thing I fear is when Pelligrini gets sacked at Real (yes i see it happening), they will target Benitez again and that might cause alot of unrest.

yes... esp riera, nxt season will be his 2nd season... should see him improved after used to epl...
benayoun is a role model... thou he did complain for more playing time, he worked hard and grab his chance n become the best player towards the end of last season...
kuyt is having his best season... think he dished out lots of assists last season... hope he carry on his good form..
:D:D

wat else do they know to do beside poaching other team players n coach...!!

arby completed his 3.5 mil transfer to real...
good luck to him and thank for his contribution... a quiet and solid defender...
he has been having problem of homesick since last season... and guess he feels he has something to prove at real (he came thru real youth set up, and was sold after making few appearance)... so real offer is just too good for him to turn down...

doss 4 mil transfer was delyed due to his wage...

so both sale will only fetch us 7.5 mil... but will take 60~80k off our weekly wages..

seems rafa is putting his faith on daggen and youngsters like darby, insua, kelly to cover both fullbacks position.. think will see agger playing LB if necessary..

alonso episode still dragging on.... tat's bad for the team's preparation for the new season...

expect rafa to make another 1 big signing before the season starts...

I have faith in our covers for defense too but they have their flaws too

Degen - doesn't cross fast enough, too many tricks

Insua - everything good but can't cross

Darby - needs more games.

Kelly - potential to be our next Hyypia to me.

we have to keep Alonso, and then i will be confident of seeing number 19 back at Anfield.

Rumor floating around now is Lee Cattermole will be replacing Alonso,if he does leave, for 12 million.
I feel Cattermole is more of a Masch player so PLEASE XABI STAY!!!

Liverpool FC's Xabi Alonso hands in transfer request

Jul 30 2009 EXCLUSIVE by James Pearce

XABI ALONSO’S proposed transfer to Real Madrid moved a step closer today after the Spaniard put in a written transfer request.

The 27-year-old’s future has been the subject of intense speculation this summer with Real officials repeatedly stating their desire to sign the midfielder.

Kop favourite Alonso has consistently refused to publicly reveal his intentions and boss Rafa Benitez has always insisted he didn’t want to sell the Spanish international.

However, Alonso has now finally confirmed in writing to the club that he sees his future away from Anfield.

Alonso was one the first players to sign for Benitez, along with Luis Garcia, with a £10.5million move from Real Sociedad in August 2004.

He made his debut at Bolton's Reebok Stadium on August 29, 2004 and two months later turned in an eye-catching performance against Fulham at Craven Cottage which saw him emerge as a new fans favourite among the Anfield faithful.

In June last year Alonso penned a new five-year deal, though much of the following campaign was spent on the sidelines with a metatarsal injury.

He recovered for Euro 2008 as Spain defeated Germany in the final. Alonso featured three times from the bench and captained his country in the final group game against Greece.

With his confidence sky high, he went on to enjoy perhaps his finest season to date as Liverpool took the 2008-09 Premier League title race to the wire.

If he is going, I am going to wish him all the best. Not just a great Liverpool player but a great individual and human being as well. Whether he puts in a transfer request or not, I will always respect him.

We are not going to go to pieces without him. Rafa has got to be creative in his imagination and find a replacement and a system that works. Lots of other championship teams in England have lost their top players and gone on to win more trophies (don't need me to name names eh??) ;)
