being a liverpool fan, u have to live with it. live with the fact that these "journalists" and "pundits" always tries to find fault with liverpool's performances. when pool wins 1-0, it is a struggle and manure eases past with the same scoreline. it is a concentrated effort to curry favour with the readers and in history, the journalist will always slither up to nest with the dominant party while putting down their biggest rivals.

His strength and pace will give tiring legs a headache, though I wish he's a bit calmer when he has the ball. He seems to be rushing to make things happen... You know luck's on your side when you can scored the 6th goal like that...

actually, can u see that gerrard is relaxing one corner (the centre of the park)? nobody came to disturb him mah, so he happily just mothered benitez's godson. ;)

positives from the game:

1. gerrard almost anonymous, yet pool ran out huge winners.
2. hull was a non-opposition and totally different from the team that visited anfield last year, but it would give the team a whole head of steam when they play chelsea next.
3. torres' hattrick. earlier in the season, he would lose the ball whenever he changed direction during a dribble. his 3 goals were all due to the fact that he lost the defender but didnt lost his ball when he changed direction.
4. bullying the ugly hull rightback, whom i was told last nite he was a manure trainee. poetic!!!:D in the first half, glen johnson was almost totally unused. i wouldnt be surprised if he and gerrard were sitting somewhere on the field, having tea. so much so that dirk kuyt switched flanks to get himself some action. result: ugly boy lost his composure. liverpool owned him so much that i dont think he will ever play well against liverpool ever again.
5. the team spirit. was i hallucinating again or what? the whole team seemed intent on letting babel get on the scoresheet when he came on.
6. we wanted liverpool to try to win games rather than to settle for draws, the telling factor last season. now we r getting that, but i would make provisions for some losses.

it is really a good weekend. now for lewis hamilton to make it better. YNWA. cheers.

With 22 goals scored already, it is their most prolific start to a season since 1895-96 and an attacking intent was apparent again in the use of Gerrard as one of the two central midfielders.
So it meant Javier Mascherano was on the bench, rightfully so as frankly speaking, there was no need for him against Hull.

frankly, i would prefer gerrard plays at central midfield. cos, he would still end up in the box anyway.:D but his calming influence in the middle of the park is critical, now that alonso has left.

And I will tell you what, Torres has been on fire since Rafa told him to shut up and stick to his task. Of course no one in the media will acknowledge that (it's just that Torres is brilliant huh), they all want to talk about our defending.

Of course we can never win, we just keep winning ;)

y worry abt defending when we go out there to outscore our opponents,oh well we can never win with the pundits.pundits use to say we defend to deep, now they say we don t dont defend at all.:Dwait till lani is fit, i m dying to hear wat the pundits wld say.

LIVERPOOL TO BE SOLD?

Saudi prince reveals investment deal is close

A Saudi prince has revealed that he is set to make a significant investment in an English side, amid reports that Liverpool's owners are prepared to sell a 50% stake in the club.

Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdullah has been linked with a bid, in order to help balance the books at Anfield, as Liverpool are experiencing financial difficulties under the ownership of American duo Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

"We are currently seeking to buy 50% of the shares in the club which is now suffering with debts worth £245 million," Fahd bin Abdullah, who chairs private firm F6 and a Saudi-based holding firm called Fama Group, was quoted as saying in Al-Riyadh.

"The transaction, upon which a decision is close to be reached, will be worth 200 to 350 million pounds."

A spokesman for Fama has declined to comment on the matter, but it appears that the Premier League could be set to welcome further money from the Middle East after the success of the Dubai-based takeover of Manchester City.

Hopefully this report is true. If it is true, then Liverpool don't have to worry so much on the new stadium & future transfer targets.

Luck was definitely on our side....
Never seen Gerrard lose ball so easily so much recently....could be due to the court case....
Till now, never could understand what Rafa see in Lucas......
Carra needs a good rest.....hope Agger is back soon...
Heard the commentators mentioned only 1 other player has the class, strength and skills like Torres...which is Drogbar......

lucas actually played well recently... thou he playing as a defensive midfielder, he does make some attacking run into opponent box and try to get into shooting position...

communication between CBs wasn't very good tis season, too many times 2 players went for the same header and leaving opponent unmarked, eg the geovanni's goal... hope agger is back very soon..

Hey bros, this Saudi talk is interesting but remember having too many heads can create a big headache (pun intended) for the body. We might stumble on as the owners disagree and fight or wage a cold war until 3 more years down the road when finally there is only one left. sigh.

Agreed bro.

He's been doing it the last few matches already, getting into the box as Stevie is playing in midfield.

I bold the parts that I thought had happened between the 2 Americans last year. Gillette and Hicks did disagree right? Thought they split the club into Gilette-Rafa Vs Hicks-Parry? It's not that long ago when Rafa's job was on the line for always complaining through the press. I think not much will change with the saudis coming in.

I highlighted the part where I hope the Saudi will be the last one remaining. Since we can't get rid of 2 yankies at once, it's not that bad to remove them one by one either... As long as they leave, 3 years I will also wait. With Stanchart being the next shirt sponsor, I think the club is more 'halal' for the Saudis now?

There's been talk about rules about financial responsibility. If the Saudis can clear our debt, given our cash inflows... we should be able to have a decent transfer budget every year.

By the way, Cech is banned for our match against Chelsea this weekend right? Rahl... will need your links for the champions league match against Florentina... thanks ah. :p

I'm glad for him. This can only make him a better player. He's quite muscular this days.

From our official website: INSUA JOY AT MARADONA CALL

Emiliano Insua is relishing the opportunity to help Argentina reach the World Cup finals and admits it will be 'special' to play for the legendary Diego Maradona. The Reds full-back has been named in his country's squad ahead of qualifiers against Peru and Uruguay and now hopes to make a good impression on what is his first ever call-up at senior level.

"It is very special," Insua told Liverpoolfc.tv following the 6-1 hammering of Hull. "Argentina are fighting for their place in the World Cup and I want to help my country get there. I am very happy. "Everyone knows how good Maradona was as a player, so it will be fantastic for me to play under him as a coach. I hope we can make it to South Africa and would love to play my part."

Insua capped news of his call-up by producing another superb display against Hull as Fernando Torres inspired the Reds to victory. The Spaniard has been in irrepressible form of late and Insua admits he has run out of superlatives to describe the forward's goalscoring exploits. "He is one of the best strikers in the world," he said. "It is incredible to play with him. He is a great player but he is also a great person too. I enjoy playing alongside him - I wouldn't want to play against him." He added: "In the first-half it was more difficult for us because they (Hull) tried to press high. It was easier in the second-half, we played more freely and scored a lot of goals."
