Seems there is conflicting reports - one that say Gillett is going to sell his own stake and another that he is trying to get Hicks to sell off his, i.e. Gillett will remain and partner with the Saudis. Also now that Gillett has found financial backing, Hicks is trying to find his own financial backer.

sigh....in anycase, if we can really get villa in to partner torres, it ll be armageddon for the other clubs.....

Yeah bro, I wonder where all these clowns get the idea that sharing ownership (or co-managing) will work. I do hope for one thing it means more money for transfers and for the stadium. You are right we have proven that we can play on the pitch regardless of what the clowns do.

Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) on Thursday morning announced that it has secured the exclusive rights to the Barclays Premier League (BPL) for three years from 2010.

Asia's leading telecommunications company said the rights would allow it to broadcast BPL matches on mio TV, the Internet and mobile applications for three years starting August next year.

SingTel has also secured exclusive broadcast rights to a suite of sports channels from ESPN STAR Sports, and will launch a new24-hour sports news channel, ESPNEWS, on mio TV from next month.

Said Mr Allen Lew, SingTel's CEO Singapore: 'Football fans can look forward to a revolutionary way of viewing 'live' soccer matches on TV, the Internet and their mobile phones."

He said users will not be charged "more than what they are currently paying to their cable TV operator", and still enjoy the convenience of SingTel's integrated platform offering.

SingTel's victory ends a bidding war between Singapore's two pay-TV giants SingTel and StarHub to broadcast English Premier League matches live - a lucrative cable content offering in English football-crazy Singapore.

It is not yet known exactly how much SingTel - which owns the exclusive rights to the UEFA Champions League in Singapore- will charge for its latest football content.

The move spells major changes for cable subscribers who now get their BPL fix exclusively on Starhub. They will either have to replace their existing set-top boxes with mio TV's services, or add the latter to their cable mix.

Er... Singtel outbid Starhub leh. What makes you think we will get a lower package with Singtel? If anything, the only good thing is maybe more of us will watch CL next season since we are getting Mio TV.

The reason is i can get a better plan with Singtel than starsuck coz i can get staff discount...
Starsuck broadband sucks, mobile also sucks.....
Broadband now slow as snail....pay for higher speed for wat !!
Mobile ... haiz....give voucher...alot of terms and conditions....got voucher like no voucher.....wtf...
