Agreed, we have been outplayed and out foxed by Spurs, Villa and Chelsea already. Stevie's body language does not look right.

We are looking like the Pool side earlier in Rafa's reign, all puff and no power.

We only play the 1st 15mins to Chelsea, afterwards is all back-foot.

I have no idea why liverpool did not play Yossi earlier instead sticking with lucas and mascherano.

Now 3 losses, we need to perform well in the CL & FA Cup..the EPL chances is becoming very slim.

another disappointing performance from the Reds.
Bennayoun should have come on much earlier.
Torres was being marked tight by Terry.

bad day....

i'ld say tat we're out-muscled by cheski... and our defense of set-pieces still look shaky...

always feel tat the side who make the 1st mistake will be punished, and indeed a marcherano mispass led to the opening goal... but can't totally blamed him on tat, nobody doing the role of alonso, bringing the ball out of defense, every player was just making square passes... until marcherano tried to bring the ball up and lose possession...

wat a bad start of a long long week...!!

Just heard what Rafa said when interviewed...

Sure hope he said what he said as just to cover the team...

We lost cause we didnt convert our chances.. What chances??

He mentioned we were defensively better, then why we lost?

Sure hope he dont become another Houllier who speak nonsense to the press...

There were quite a few chances that could have gone Liverpool way if not for the sharp response of their keeper and also a bit more "zhun" on the players part. Firstly the save from Hilario from Torres header, Reira spot kick, Gerard kick. Also if Torres did not miskick from his shin I think with his caliber, would have been a goal. And how to forget Bennayoun attempt just miss the post...it had the keeper beaten.

Overall the match could have gone either way before the first goal.

What worries more is when Stevie and Torres are not performing, the Reds look average...

This is not good at all should we are to challenge the title.. :(

:(3 defeats already, is tat it for us.....:(
wondering why Benayoun is not in the starting 11.....

Some one mentioned earlier in the thread that Benanyoun is a Jew and need to fast on Sunday so don't have much energy to last a whole match.

I remembered that. I wonder if the Jews can make up for the fasting on another day. Means don't fast on sunday but make up by fasting on say... tuesday instead. I mean, if muslims can skip 1 day of fasting and make it up another day, then maybe it might apply for Jews as well, since their religion quite similar? If every sunday he can't play the full match, that's a big handicap.

It's going to be a long week... Really dragged myself to work today.

I think it's possible to make it up on another especially for religious footballers in EPL. WHY? Because they are so highly paid footballers.
Per week they play 1-2 games & they are paid weekly.
However so, i do respect their religions however they should be able to sacrifice abit for the club which is paying them sky high per se.
Anyway Yossi never lets us down before, he is always running around, just that yesterday was simply not our day.
Header waywards, shooting either hits the shin or ankle, crossing was terrible.
Chelsea only have a few chances but they took it away.

Anyway 3 losses is too much unless the other 3 teams losses or draw.

Heard the report today no clubs have managed to climb to the top for the past 40 years after losing 3 matches.
And we still have Ars, Man U & Chelsea still to play..

God Bless Us..

if that is true, then it is an handicap.
so hope that there will not be too many matches on Sunday for Liverpool.
the Reds need his run down the flank so that Gerrard can take-up his more favorite position.

overall i feel the blues wanted the victory more after the opening 15-20 mins where we dictated play. i was happy that cech was banned for this game and thought we could least score a few goals as cech ALWAYS saved our shots whenever he plays against us.

But there were very few attempts on goal on target. THE WORST was the stoppage shot by benayoun!! that just killed me when it was a freebie thanks to cashley who missed the header..

drogba dived at every chance but it was he who made the 2 goals.. so i guess that just sums it up for us. quite disappouinted with the lads effort (or lack of.. lack of direction .. missing xabi here) we just pumped the ball from defence at times instead of working it up.. and terry and co were more than happy to head it clear..

there are still many games to play and it will all boil down to how we play the BIG 4 this year...

Torres is marked out most of time during the match, IMHO Liverpool need another world class striker to partner him to give him more freedom to rom.

Liverpool failure to land david villa maybe Rafa's biggest regrets.....

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Honestly we need another striker in the mold of DropBalls...who has the physical strength to bully defenders and muscled their way thru the defense...

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Rafa needs to get a suitable replacement for Alonso...
Lucas is not suitable or capable for such an important midfield position.
Coz like that Gerrard can't free himself to play along side Torres.
