I'm just wondering. If the 2 yankees were not around, would Steven G & Torres injuries go away? Would the beach ball be out of the way?

As what bro rahl said "we got to call a spade a spade".

Even with the off field problems, I'm incline to think that players who are being paid millions sholud be able to shrug that off and focus on what they are paid to do and not be affected by other things.

Yes bro, that sort of talk from our players has been going on for far too long now.

Exactly, we better buck up for this Saturday or we will be well and truly humiliated.

Agreed...

Players are paid to focus and win games..
Whatever happened "upstairs" should not be an excuse for them...

None of the players on the field on Sat deserved what they were paid for...
If we are to win the title, we should play like contenders, not some sunday moring kick-about...

I still dont understand why Rafa likes Lucas that much??? That Voronin was a total misfit

I think Rafa should not have off-loaded Alonso...and just look at the passing and feeding are in total disarray.

At this stage, forget it...

Put it this way..

If you dont play Lucas, you dont have anyone else to play until Aquallani recovers...

As for Voronin, I always thought he will stay in German since he is playing so much better there... But if you dont use him, you only got N'Gog left..

Theres nothing much you can do with such a thin squad....

BUT STILL NO REASON TO UNDER-PERFORM!!!

We are simply just not good enough...

I always see things on the bright side but seriously at this rate, there is nothing so bright to see...

agree with u fully.. i always try to be positive.. but this time, i really can't find an excuse or a reason to for the performance.. thou we're missing FT n SG, but the rest of squad simply din turn up..
most of them always look 1 or 2 steps slower, wonder has the WC games affected them.. but it's simply not an acceptable excuse..
but it's a game which we enjoyed no luck at all.. not a single 50-50 ball, deflection, ref decision is in our way, even a BEACH BALL is agst us...

Agreed. I'm very surprised our back 4 are taking their time to pass the ball amongst themselves at 1 point in the 2nd time. Taking forever to push the ball into the opponent's half, I also thought we were leading. ...

it's showed how much we missed Xabi.. he used to be the man who bring ball out of defense and spray it up field.. none of the midfielders on sat r capable of tat, tat's y the back 4 kept playing square ball.. remember how we canceded the 1st gol agst cheskis.. the same problem, until macherano tried to bring it up himself and lost possession..

it hurt even more when i watched xabi played for madrid after liverpool match on sat.. he is the link between the defense to attackers like raul, benzema, gerano(?), van der vaart and the overlapping fullbacks...

to be fair to lucas, he's not in the class of alonso.. pairing him with a rookie will never worked.. they're simply too inexperience.. guess macherano was too tired after the WC games..

some other thoughts of the game:
LB: insua has to be our 1st choice left back.. or at least till aurelio get back his form..
RB: johnson looker tired, had a bad bad game..
Midfielders: unfair to pass a judgement on Spearing. never an ideal debut.. even the everlasting kuyt look tired. babel had his last chance, in my opinion.. benayoun, he is more effective coming off the bench.. all the 4 midfielders can be good supportingv cast, but they're all found wanting when the main men (SG, MC and used to incl. XA too) not playing..
SUB: Voronin, Ngog... wat's there to say when we have only them, and hope tat they can rescue us..

Sigh, to make things stranger, the beach ball was thrown by a visiting liverpool fan. Talk about self-snook... Can't even say we got sabotaged by Sunderland fans.

We will bounce back is beginning to sound like We've turned a corner. Last year too many draws, this year no draws but 5 wins and 4 losses. Also don't know which is better for me...

Normally after a loss, there will be 1 or 2 voices here that defends the team, to say that 'it's not so bad guys'. But for this match, even after 2 days, it seems everyone agreed the performance is ordinary, unimaginative and unacceptable for a club of our size. We seemed to be carry as much deadweight (ordinary players) now as the last Houllier team.

Lucas, Ngog, Voronin, Babel, Spearing, Mascherano... Not bad players but seemed to be under-performing this season.

funny thing is the beach ball is sold out at the Liverpool online store.

Rumor is opposing fans have bought some to throw at Anfield.

The freak goal happened very early in the game, liverpool has more than sufficient time to redeem themselves and get back into the game. Unfortunately, that did not happen. The final ball was disappointing, the new formation was untested, lucas and company were practically not supporting the strikers. Overall, it's a very poor performance. There is no excuse even if Gerrald and torres were injuried. To lose 4 games in the first 9 matches is unacceptable for a big club like Liverpool. Looks like the club is in mini crisis. maybe RB thinks too much or simply the players just out of form. Hope they can bounce back in the next game.

p/s - RB will regret his decision to sell Alonso.

Alonso never wanted to leave the club in the first place, I believed you are aware why he handed in the transfer request in July.
