Granted that we are still toothless upfront but look at how hard we tried to gain control of central midfield. Tackles flying everywhere, the pace of the match was terrific for the entire 90 minutes. It was a great way to introduce the BPL to Maxi.

I just wish we can show him half the loyalty he showed us. The problems at Anfield aren't Rafa's doing alone. I don't even think we can put 50% of the blame on him. He's the fall guy in a stupid system (think Parry, Gillet and Hicks). I do wish someone will pick on this and report it in the press. If anything, I blame David Moore for selling to the Americans. If it's a straight off commercial decision, no one can fault him. But David Moore told us that he will screen through prospective buyers to find an owner befitting our club. That's why Thaksin and the Arabs are out. David, you screwed up BIG TIME!

Nice one bro, and it helped revive my belief in Rafa ;)

Certainly get rid of the Yanks first before we consider what to do with the manager.

It's great Rafa values us so highly, compared to his Valencia time, but ultimately he is judged according to results and he is running out of time and dollars and cents. It's not even about tactics anymore if we don't have a deep squad that can cover for injuries up front.

PS. I'm glad the Italian-loving press got it up their a#$ at Goodison Park last night heheh.

Everyone's looking for someone or something to blame for our team's performance this season. Why do we have to blame ourselves? A lot of us can't afford the time or money to visit Anfield. Even if we visit Anfield, I doubt we can see the whole squad in action too. I really hope they don't take another 8 years to come visit us.

Seriously, I don't think our performance is hampered by spending pre-season in Singapore. A lot of other teams spent pre-season out of England too and it didn't affect their performances.

Sigh...hearing all these rant on players, manager, management...etc etc etc.. i thought i have come up with an innovative & unique explaination on why we are doing so poorly this season. :D

Next match must wear red colour underwear to watch the match liao. :p

well said, bro...

indeed, rafa could just walk out of liverpool and get a job with similar salary ANYTIME..

rumours in papers saying tat the 2 idoits lining up few names to replace rafa:-

1. MARK HUGHES!!!! - he can't even do the job with unlimited budget...

2. Martin O' Neil - he may be good enuf for challenging (i mean challenge, not winning EPL), but definitely not good enuf for european football.. and both o'neil and hughes won't be able to attract world class players.. just look at man city, they r paying over-the-odd prices and wages to get players...

3. Mourinho - i'm keeping myself neautral abt appoint him.. but he already made himself clear, he'll consider ONLY the 2 idoits sold up..

4. Hiddink - best choice, thou he's not the youngest.. but 1st, he need to get the nod from abramovic thou he's officially off his payroll.. secondly, why he would want to manage a club with so much backroom and finacial problems.. he does not short of offers too..

5. Kenny Dalgish - guess he's fan favourite.. but he's been out of touch from club management for years... and he din do well in his last job too...

why can't those 2 idoits get themselves out of liverpool...??!!!

Actually he didn't, it was the press (aka 'City expert' that made up the story ;)

honeymoon ends early for mancini... he failed his first test... rumours saying tat man city actually planned his appointment such tat he's having a easy "settling in" run of matches...

only consolation of the weekend is tat none of the 4th place contenders won.. spur, villa draw, man city lost... and chelsea won (sorry, but i'm supporting chelsea to beat man utd for the title)...

Rafael is undeniably a great tactician of the game but it works only if his players has the confidence or the motivation to carry out his plans. He has at his disposal some of the greatest players but it is clear what they need now is a dose of motivation which I honestly doubt a motivator he is one....:(

being reading the senior mates who support our reds thoughts and pls keep supporting no matter what.

we were so close last yr and this yr we suffer the brunt of all jokes and shit from everyone. even my dad is asking me to swap sides & suanning me tt liverpool is playing lousy tis yr. of course i refuse to give up, and probably never give up on our team..

i firmly believe that rafa will bring us to glory but its difficult now no thks to the 2 f dicks owners.. why cant they just sell off and get fuck off?? its creating alot of chaos n i guess even some players are affected psychologically....

i guess we hhave been reli cursed tis yr with the last min giveaway goals . made wins into draws and draws into defeats.. sigh just no lady luck tis yr.. and with the injuries and lack of $$ to get cover. we end up with a defender loaded team@ stoke.

we looked pretty ordinary , much like a lower half table team..

even leeds showed me something vs manu in FA cup..

anyway sacking rafa now wont do any good for us..
lets take 1 match @ a time n keep it tight to the pack for 4th place for now.. it will be v close fight man..

peace for the reds..

4 points from 4th spot, with 17 matches remaining. 5 teams fighting for the 4th spot. This will be a close one this season. Let's not give up on our team. I know we are supposed to be challenging for the title this year. Unfortunately, that dream is gone. Hurts man, after 19 years without a league victory.

But losing a title challenge is a different matter from losing the 4th spot. So what if we are out of the Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup? 4th Spot is a different matter altogether. In fact, this could be a blessing in disguise if we could only focus on the challenge for 4th spot (give up the europa league i will say). I remembered we only got 5th spot in 2005 when we are trying to secure 4th spot plus win the Champions League.

If you look at our last 2 games (reading and stoke), we are damn near to victories in both matches, aren't we? Lost 1 match from the last tackle of the game and drew a match from a corner in the last few minutes. If we can beat Spurs this thu morning, we will be much closer. Did you guys see the fire in Carragher's and Krygiakos's eyes in the match against Stoke? I think our players are hungry but sibeh sway at times.

I know we lost Gerrard and Torres. Could be a good thing too. Our attack does focus a lot on Gerrard's brilliance and Torres's trickery, just like how we use to depend so heavily on Heskey passing the ball to Owen (think FA cup against Arsenal). Now that we lost Torres and Gerrard, our opponents also don't know who to mark and how to prepare to defend against us. May be good for us right?

We guys are liverpool fans. Aren't you used to watching us play badly when we are expected to steamroll past our opponents or watching us play brilliantly when expectations of a victory are damn low? :p The last I checked, expectations among liverpool fans seemed pretty low now, so... who knows what kind of performance we might give against Spurs?

Noticed the posts in this thread dried up as our performances sucked. Hope you guys aren't so depressed that you don't wish to do or write anything related to Liverpool. Come on, cheer up!!! We can do it guys!!! Am I walking alone? No way right...?

It's about lifting confidence really, rather than motivation to do well. You see the team is working real hard in some matches, just lacking confidence and some additional quality to seal the result.

Motivation is over-rated - players don't play well cos there is some great motivational figure with charisma in the club (the captain is probably more important in this respect than the gaffer).

its like prof AW went through a spell of 5 yrs or so without any trophy won. but he stuck to his beliefs ans see where they are now. in 2yrs time the gunners are going to really run rings around e blues n devils LITERALLY.

the avg age of their squad is so young i would have thought its a U23/21 team at times. and not EPL!!

back to rafa, sometimes i JUST wish tt he show more enthuaism on the pitch. but he is just uber cool. iceman...

let us know ur emotions at least its more heathly rather bottling it up..
