On the whole SG has really not been himself this season ..makes me more wonder he is trying to eye his future elsewhere.

1 goal down - yet i see 2 holding midfielders on the pitch until Yossi came to replace lucas almost at the end of the game??

I do not agree we derserve even a draw (even ft has some clear-cut chances which DO NOT even test the goalie). The stats read 2 shot on targets by the REDS whole freaking game

The whole team was just screwed up by rafa - even the commentators cannot stand it..

真的吐血..

sad to say fellow supporters... it was piss poor play.. we had nicked the 1st goal from the BRILLANCE of TORRES!!! and then we give away a pen right away with AWFUL defence... (i understand his frustrations when he kicked at the pen spot ..)

agger just let the guy run pass him and masch .. if u want to foul, do it hard and not give away cheap pK.. if it was a PK, he should have been off then.. e momentum took e dude into the box and the linesman was sleeping once more?..

sigh.. if i dint chk the lineup, i would have tot SG is not playin at all!!.. that was how bad he was..

what a disappointed match , the mins the starting line up list is out is already disappointed , why still being so defencive ??? (look at the sub bench Babbel,Aquiliani & Benayoun) B4 the match start we are layin at 5th place nt to mention (MC got 2 games in hand AV & TH both with one game in hand). why not be more adventurous??

Isn't Aquiliani supposed to be XA???? if i'm not wrong he has played less then 12 games since he recovered from injuries, just dun understand why u keep starting with Lucas where there is no creativity coming from him at all.

will not be surprise at all, SG is 30, based on his character, he needs to be winning a major league title - be it in Italy or spain or england...which i cant see us having a go at it with these owners & manager

I am at a loss for words.....fourth and the last Champions League spot is for sure out of our reach after last night's result...! :(

Even winning the europa league will be scant consolation for a really dogshit season!!!!

If MU win the title again this season and thereby get the record 19th championship, then the demise of our great club will be complete....:o

Guys, forget Istanbul 2005, thats gone....what is needed now is re-building and by that I do not necessarily mean a major overhaul of the squad (although I do acknowledge that we will have to bring in more pacy and skillful players who can dribble and beat opposing defenders as we really lacked creativity and width in our overall play this season).

What I mean is to get in new owners and certainly a new manager. If the owners cannot be bought out, then at the very least change the manager to another that doesn't tinker with his players so much and play them out of position week in week out, never quite knowing who his best 11 is!!!!

In my view, our current squad isn't the best, but it is still enough to get 4th spot in the league. The fact that we are not falls squarely on the shoulders of one Rafa Benitez, who has I feel, lost the confidence of his players by his inexplicable selection of players for most of the games this season. For instance, if I could speak to Rafa in person, I would really like him to explain to me why he plays Gerrard (who is our best central-midfielder) behind Torres and Kuyt (who plays as a striker for his country) on the right wing. Then there's the selection of Lucas.....wtf I wonder is Rafa thinking????

I think I really needn't say much more. IMHO, its time to ring that change, Istanbul or no Istanbul!

at e start of e season, we were criticised coz leak in too much but scored many goals...

now we cant score more den 1 or 2 and keep giving away silly golas n losses... why rafa? is lucas reli ur illegimate son?
we r still playing for 4th spot , i rather we attacked n gave it a go.. instead of defensive mindedness n draw isnt such a bad rsult mentality.. v sad...

Lets just be honest, fourth place might not even be within their reach this season. They have put their fate in not just one team hands but three. What are the chances of the other 3 teams that are eying the final CL spot screwing up the same time...

Their diffcult games:

Man City - 5th
Sat. 17 Apr - Manchester City v Manchester United
Sat. 24 Apr - Arsenal v Manchester City
Sat. 1 May - Manchester City v Aston Villa (draw should be good)

Villa - 7th (2 games in hand)
Sat. 27 Apr - Chelsea v Aston Villa
Sat. 1 May - Manchester City v Aston Villa (draw should be good)

Spurs - 4th
Sat. 10 Apr - Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal
Sat. 17 Apr - Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea
Sun. 25 Apr - Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur

(look like Villa have the best path compared to the rest)

As for us :

Sat. 1 May - Liverpool v Chelsea

Hope they fail to perform with the other big boys and we beat Chelsea :D :D

man city (+8, if they win games in hand);
villa (+5, if they win game in hand;
spur (+7, if they win games in hand)

according to the above fixture, and assuming they lose all their "tough matches"...

man city : - 8 pts
villa : - 5 pts
spur : - 9 pts...

so IDEALLY, IF we WIN our remaining 7 games, incl agst cheski, and other results go "accordingly", we'll pipped them to 4th place....!!!

so there's still hope....

:p:p:p
