Your friend is right. What happened when Houllier dragged us into the CL in his last season? He got fired. Rafa is going to stay on if he does this (and he probably will stay on even if he fails).

Met lots of disillusioned fans this season, fans who had been supporting the club for years, longer than me, probably more passionately than me in the past. Can't watch a match now (or can't be bothered).

I think Singtel should target the disgruntled Pool fans or else they won't be signing up with them next season (I haven't). ;)

The Americans are just like any shrewd businessmen at Wall Street. They bought liverpool in 2007 but the fans are still paying for it now. The huge amount of debts accrued after their purchase and high annual interest payments have prevented RB from buying quailty players to mount a title challenge.

The 2 clowns must go, period.

The commentator remarked that no goal keeper in the world could have save that shot :p

What a fluid game without that head-less chicken LUCAS.

The game is more of an entertainment rather than a competition with many "sepak takraw" and "Jackie Chan kungfu" type of dribbling and passing

Liverpool in total dominance

another brace from Torres.. thou his 2nd goal is not as spectacular, but it was very cooly taken..

it's a game tat we totally dominated (first half possesion is something like 78% to 22%!!), should have score more to boost our goal difference...

arguably our best 1st half performance of the season.

2nd half Pool slowed down the pace but all in all it was still an excellent performance.

Torres' 1st goal must be the contender for Goal of The Season!

G'nite all Pool bros!!!

Let's hope we can build up today's victory for the remaining games + Europa.

It's not really a point beating Pompey's & lose the next few matches & now a win against the cats & go on a losing streak (Which is the problem this season)..

Damn..i still feel we should not even qualify for CL this season to get rid of the 3 guys...

we looked hungry. Actually, despite scoring 2 goals, Torres does look rusty. The commentator kept saying he's also human. Glad to see Phil Thomson in the stands yesterday. He did well as a manager for us when Houllier was sick. Wonder if he will like to try his hand at management again...

We have ready made replacements in king Kenny and Phil Thompson as assistant shd rafa go. Am hoping that raga will take up the juve post and save us from compensation.

A true red blood should take over and bring us back to the glory days.

Is it me or what? Pool played better when lucas is not playing today. That should be the way. :-)

Totally agree with you bro. Its actually quite simple, Gerrard was installed back into central midfield and what a fantastic job he did yesterday. I have all along been saying that Rafa needs to play Gerrard along with Mascherano so that there is creativity and a driving force from midfield. In fact, he ought to be playing his players in their natural positions (for example Kuyt as a second striker to Torres, rather than wide right). If only he had not been so obstinate until last nights game against Sunderland, otherwise we will not be struggling to attain fourth spot as we are now....Sigh!

Frankly, I rate Lucas as a squad player at best and not a first 11 player. I certainly hope Rafa learns his lesson and sticks with the Gerrard-Mascherano midfield pairing (barring injuries to them) from here on until the final game of the season!

Everyone would certainly blame the Yanks for the sorry state of finances in our club now, I do too. That said, the poor run and dogshit results which we have had this season must, IMHO, surely fall squarely on the shoulders of the manager, who is solely responsible for picking the team....so many what ifs with his squad selection has costs us valuable points. In my view, he has to go and the sooner the better for me! :(
