I accompanied a ML to Sim Lim Square a few years ago to buy a laptop for $1700 and she paid in cash. I think they are used to it when paying all costly things in cash.

Firstly, $10k to $15k a month for a decent ML to earn isn't out of the ordinary. It's a high paying occupation afterall. BUT it's also a short lived one.

So she's got $200k... and then what? If she isn't smart and hasn't invested in property or something else at least, that really isn't much. Remember there is no income anymore.

But like so many of these younger MLs who found "financial freedom". She goes back to China, happy and lives it up a bit. You'll see her WC moments filled with fancy restaurants, frequent karaoke outings and short holidays. But there's still no job, still no income. So she eats into her savings. As the months roll by, she still can't get a good job, because she's not trained for anything else. The savings is being used up more. So she goes back into the sex trade, maybe buys a small apartment. Money all used up. She's back to square one. Then perhaps a few years later she comes back to Singapore to try her luck again. At that point of time, she's not young anymore, customers are not booking her like they used to. She struggles to save. Dejected she goes back, gets married and brings up her two kids.

Don't really want her to be my financial advisor to be honest. Lol. :D

Yea, even if we go ultra conservative, a ML only got 3 customers a day, and earn $100 each, you are already looking at $100k/yr

But what many ppl dont see is actually living expenses in major cities in China is actually on par with SG. Even their housing cost is not a very far away from us. So that kind of income is literally no different from your average earner in SG. Difference being their ‘career’ only last like 10 yrs?

Pre-COVID those ang pai will have no problem earning 30-40k a month, excluding extras..

Some lucky ones will continue to receive allowance even if they RTC lol..

As to whether or not they have the financial knowledge to save and invest for their future remains a big question mark but it's none of our business anyway.. :p

Agreed on that figure cos most of them know here small island and plus minus 6 mil population.

Yeah. I remember vera during a earlier stint when she was here for 2 months, she really maximised it by working at least 16 hours for 7 days a week. That was like almost 2k a day.

If Sg is a poorer country and the clientele are not mostly civil enough, they wouldn't be here.
