In Vietnam; you don't need a tour guide to bring you around. There are many taxis available. Please take only Vinasun; Malinh and Confort Delgro Taxis only. Additionally; since you had your partner with you; you can ask her where to go for SPA. There are many spas in D1 but they are a bit expensive. Please remember to Tips in vn but I think your partner will tip on you behalf

The best ones I have been so far is Xuan Spa at Park Hyatt Saigon. Very classy place and the staffs are all smartly dressed in ao dai.

Reverie Saigon just opened but I have yet to try their spa.

Yes but there is not much you can talk with these girls without knowing Vietnamese, so it is a hit/miss for us. Also I think their target market is Vietnamese, because I have seen only Vietnamese men in these hotels.
Besides there is so much you can do when you are just for 1-2 days in a city. But it hasn't been too bad thanks to your guide :). Hope to come back to HCMC again.
