hi seniors and bros! have confirmed the trip to hcm on 1st to 6th aug. hope that some seniors or bros here are willing to meet up at night or noon for a bite and guide me and 2 other friends along. been to hcm twice..but was limited to cheonging as i was not able to get much guidance around.

hope this time would be a new experience for me with the seniors and bros to guide around during a meal or drink (: cheers.

With a post like that u unlikely to get any guidance this time as well...lets put it this way if senior meet u ...u get to save money...get the non tourist experience so that mean better overall experience...the senior has to spent his time guiding u and what benefit do they get a free lunch...who here works a few hours for 10dollars

hi bro, just to say..im keen to meet up whenever and whoever is free for a meal or drink anytime during our trip. not necessarily they have to babysit us and go with us..jus some talk over a meal and...the rest is on us (: im not really looking into cheapskate tour by the seniors here but jus hoping any of u guys will be free and kind enough to share when in person and possible. thanks for the explanation mutantchicken regarding the part to seek for senior's guidance. :D

i didn't check other areas in d7 but only hj massages on ntt. not sure if fj shops in d7 are still open. if so it could be worth going there even if more expensive than qtb.

do notice some bbbj shops at NTT is close..but shops at other streets still operate until 2-3am at the usual price of 200k in all.

Besides, i dont know who to direct the question to, thats why i posted here, but i will refrain from tcss unnecessarily.... apologies if i asked the wrong question. I've read the whole thread and would not ask the question if already can be found here.

Will post FR when im back from HCM den. Hopefully one of the seniors here could meet me up, so i can write something interesting.

Thanks

from my knowledge is that almost all shops will accept RM..if u really have doubts then just change ur RM into Sgd or Usd..i dont think u will be changing a lot,if u r changing 1-2k,then most probably u will only lose out about 50-100k vnd which is only 5usd.but at least u can be 100% safe...:)

hi all senior

what is the best way to bring 20000sgd into Vietnam? i think over 5000usd must declare. should i bring cash and declare upon arrival?

i did search and found that there are Citibank, uob and standard chartered. would it be better to open a bank accout in one of these bank and use atm withdrawal?

btw, Vietnam is my last stop. prior to that, i am going to china. so, i am also worried abt bringing large amt of cash out of china.

Bringing in the money is not a problem. If you leave with more money than you bring in, that becomes a problem.

I doubt you would want to declare SGD 20k to a bunch of opportunists in uniform. How many people are you traveling with to VN?

i ever brought 60k Sgd into Vietnam by hand without declare.

all is in 1000 note and just put into pocket and walk through custom...:D

i dont think u able to withdraw from UOB and Standard Chartered.

as for Citibank,i think theres no charge for overseas withdrawal if u r a premium customer.

Those that can "convince" the police, will be able to reopen their shops :D :)
