Some of us would love to hear about places of interest, nice food discoveries, nice hotels, where to find best bike rental shops etc. It is not always about finding prostitutes.

In Dalat, there are a few ice cream (kem) shops where the pretty gals hang out, especially at 70 Nguyen Van Troi. Although I am not sure why they like kem when the weather is cold but who cares.

At night, if you have nothing to do and just want to romance your gf, bring her to V Cafe (1 Bui Thi Xuang St) where the American owner himself sometimes performs.

but u can tell them u opt out of the bus part and they will cut accordingly from the overall price plan.
sleeping bus is definitely better...

now is a bit colder but just cover blanket and do what u want lo..

but I usually jus leave the balcony door open a bit and let the air come in.

Well ok for one, yeah no questions out on the highway. But this is a web forum, a place people come to ask and answer questions, so its a bit like going to a rainforest and complaining it's so wet.

I was gonna say, there's not many people who would make that trip. Like me, I'm scared as shit of riding on the highways here. And just kind of hate it anyway. Drove to Vung Tau once, got there and was sore head to toe, all greasy and grimy, it was hell. (nearly ran over of a toddler who shot out onto the highway from the divider at one point -- see... adventure!) But aside from that, most people are ... not sure what's the word to use... tentative... careful. Less bold. I've done the length by bus and train, but going by bike wasn't my idea of a fun way to go. But I can appreciate the people who do like to do it that way. Definitely more adventurous, gutsy. And of course you saw a lot that I whisked past in the night while sleeping in my upper berth.

About the Dalat trip, to me it's definitely more enjoyable to read someone ask a few Q's about Dalat than to see an eruption of vitriol here. Just sayin.

Yeah I was looking up about bike rental shops, but gf says everywhere have it. not very sure what to look out for before rental. But I guess must pretty much test everything before going off. I will visit the place you mention! thanks again!

Your gf is right. "Xe may" rental shops are quite easy to find or you can just ask your hotel to recommend one. However, do make double sure the brakes work as they should as Dalat is all uphill and downhill (not flat terrain like Saigon).
