Btw who is going to play our Europa Cup qualifying tie? Dani Pacheco and some other young players are still at the U19 championships which are until the end of the month. And Roy is not playing the World Cup stars.

RH oredi said the team that will face Ratboniki will be similar to the one currently in Switzerland.
That means the youngsters will feature for Liverpool and captained by Benitez's godson Lucas. :D

The depth problem is always going to be an issue if we lack cash to splash. When the season starts, it becomes a lottery to see which position will get affected by injury and who will have to play out of position for the team. sigh.

Roy as you can see is a master at playing the press - he is certainly better at this than Rafa who never got along with them.

We have just signed Danny Wilson who looks a good prospect. Is he a central defender?

danny wilson was signed way back in april when rafa was still in charge.nego was already in motion long time ago,the stupid press in england adore RH,the press will get him the england job,if u notice he has not sign any player of his choice.

Bro rahl, i think it is more of language competency issue? Roy can "play" the media better since he speaks English since god knows when, compared to Rafa who only picks up when he arrives and probably sometimes had difficulties to convey the message across in a better "sugar-coated" english? i am sure you know what i mean.. choice of words is very important to twist the sentiment of the audience..

i think this is another masterpiece from our new manager:
http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking...ry_557297.html

if he failed to qualify Europa, it is the management fault, since they want the League more.. if he played the senior players and Liverpool ended not performing in the League, it's also the management fault.. hmm.. isnt it his job to do the best given such limitations? did we hear this from Rafa last season? when senior players like Torres, Reina, Riera, Mascherano, Lucas (mm.. not sure who else) involved with Confederations Cup and Copa America..

anyhow, with regards to Wilson, i read back in April when he was first "signed" by Liverpool, i remembered they were saying he played as right back as well.. not sure though.

Bro, if I'm not wrong, negos started long ago, yes, but Rangers knocked back the bid and Pool upped it when Roy became manager.

But Roy has also said Purslow is handling the transfers - the money side of it and negos, I suppose?

Cole counts as one of Roy's signings surely? And Gerrard of course ;)

Heh, actually our shitty news coverage totally distorted Roy's words (complete bullshit journalism).

But yes you are right he sees the pitfall ahead and has explained his predicament already ;)

My england no powderful. What RH say to Sky Sports News arh?

http://www.soccerway.com/news/2010/J...torres-future/

"Christian Purslow has been talking to Fernando Torres for the last two days so I think there has probably been lots of words from Fernando Torres but I haven't actually spoken to him," Hodgson told Sky Sports News.

i hope wat Roy meant is tat he will identify which player he wants and then let Purslow handles the money and do the nego...
and not the other way round, Purslow goes shopping and comes back with a player, throw him to Roy and say "nah, tis is wat i get with the limited $, u see how to fit into ur team...!!"... like how real does their shooping: "president buys n sells, manager's job is the put all the star players into a team and hope to win a game..."
confirmed:- riera completed his move to Olympiakos... time to sell him off to reduce wages, although we suffered a big loss on transfer fee... good luck to him and hope he helps them to win the greek lge title....(then we gets another 2mil euro bonus, as reported)
:D:D:D

Give you the benefit of the doubt - Roy hasn't talked to Torres in THOSE TWO DAYS - pls read the statement in context, not just pick out words here and there.

I think so too, although Roy should have been more careful the way he said it (maybe he ain't such a master in delivery after all heheheh).

I'm still worried though about the transfer - it's mainly been one in one out - that strengthens the first XI but doesn't give us depth.

Riera has done well for us when he has been fit. Sad about the fallout with Rafa. :(

A few youngsters to watch out for.

Thomas Ince, shelvy (or how u spelled it), Dalla valle.

Oh btw, sell ngog n degan. Simply useless.

Bro you more optimistic than me. I thought our play was totally disjointed and passing was poor (only watched 2nd half I admit).

Case in point, break on in the last 5 mins, the player CUTS INSIDE, makes a SHORT PASS, ball is lost.

I understand it's a friendly and boys vs men for the most part but this sort of play is completely unintelligent!

Agreed, Degen has gone from average to dismal!

Lucky u only watch 2nd half. 1st half just less than 20sec opening ngog had a clear chance to score the fastest goal and he fluffed and shoot wide  but anyway me didn't skipped a heartbeat at all (its ngog who's shooting..)

and guess maybe its the hot sun and yes, its a complete boys vs men (well, almost), so its not too biased to lament the game as disjointed.

Some players ratings as per below:
ayala - hesistent and jittery
darby - slow, and playing a right-legged at left back? hence kasier take the opportunity attacked down this area
lucus - as usual, aimlessly wandering around in middle of park
ngog - hardworking...but nowhere near the right replacement to lead attack
spearing -tentacious, but due to his small frame thus always bullied around
jonjo - came in too late, not much chance to see, but the 1 and only chance his pass too heavy
ecclestane - lively, but fizzled out too fast
ince - good potential, dare to dribble, craved and crossed the 1 only chance in 2nd half
milan - abit slow leh, and quite a 1-dimensional player..maybe need to see him play more
degen - fucked spider lah..
goalie - not bad, but could be more steady to calm the young defenders..
stoiko (issit spelt like that?) - like a rock, but slow hence was tricked once and outpaced, but overall quite ok.
