Ah no, we can't have the situation last season again when Aurelio was injured and Insua was played to exhaustion. We still need decent backup.

You are absolutely right about the no money part. :(

the only way is to play ugly football.. and get the pts this season i tink, judging by the players we are linked with.

we need to get as many 1-0 wins as possible, scrappy no matter. But it seems our team is still largely unchanged for the starting 11. we dont really have a transfer budget at all... sigh.. silly yanks owners.. :(

i hope RH can give us the change of scenery boost to our team this year..

A glimmer of hope for the new owner..

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...ngland&cc=4716

but whether the deal goes through or not is still subjective..apparently the yankees is still trying to hold out for more $$.

and should the deal goes through, whether the new chinese owner has the funds / war-chest for the coming transfer windows is also subjective..:o

ya ..... realli hope tat the news abt Chinese billionaire Kenny Huang is nego 2 take charge of Liverpool r true ... & would come true.

If the deal goes true then the yankees would hv 2 go away w/o much profit.
the yankees were reported 2 be looking 4 £600 million sale, but RBS was reportedly able 2 take control of the sale if it feels it will offer the best chance of repaying its loan.

Mr Kenny Huang was reported 2 hv made a direct offer 2 repay the £237 million debt.

It was reported tat as a result of Mr Huang's valuation, the yankee has told the bank tat he is in advanced negotiations with Syrian businessman Yahya Kirdi so as 2 delay the sale.

tha yankees bought Liverpool 4 a reported £219 million in 2007.

some back ground of kenny huang....

http://live4liverpool.com/2010/04/vi...tial-new-owner

"The two things you need to know about Huang then, are that although he is wealthy, it is his backers that really hold the billions. The second fact is that not only will he bring wealthy backers, his connections with China’s state owned companies mean exceptionally lucrative sponsorship deals from the Far East."

Academically, there should be no objection - the bid which places least debt on the club and provides the most money to build the stadium and invest in the team is in the best interests of Liverpool and should be accepted.

Which really shows there is a conflict of interests in selling the club - the bid which maximises profit for the Yanks (and is most agreeable to them) will also be the one least in the interests of the club.

So we really have to see who pulls the strings in the sale - the British Airways fellow or is he simply a puppet on strings?

Good clever attempt by Huang if true. I eagerly await the next development.

Let's not forget Gary Ablett - he and his defence were the reason why I supported Pool in the first place.

Let's wish him well in the coming weeks.

Been supporting liverpool fc since the days of hughes(emlyn), heighway, toshack and all and am very saddened by what is happening to a great club like lfc. would really see the 2 tupperware yanks sell the club to a new owner who must be passionate about LFC and not buy just for making some profits few years down the road when our beloved LFC is doing well again.
As for manager, my first wish was King Kenny to stable the ship for 1 to 2 years and getting LFC to play the way they were. before getting someone or if not let King Kenny carry on. Don't have to compensate other club to bring their manager over.
But having appointed RH, hoped that he does that right thing and get LFC back on track again. I don't expect him to win it first time, but would nice(LOL)
As for LB, i'm hoping we might be able to get wayne bridge and few others local lads and have a team of 7 or 8 local blokes to kick the hell out of the rest of the team.
IMHO
LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB
YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE

Crouch up for grabs?

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/trans...h-up-for-grabs

'Hodgson is a possible bidder for Crouch if the price is right and a sensational return to Liverpool is not out of the question.'

i hope not!!!

i dun mind Robbie Keane though. i feel he could have contributed more to Pool. potential not tapped to the fullest. he was unlucky to be bugged by injuries n also made the scapegoat betn RB n the yankees.

each fan may have his own indiv pref with diff players. likewise u may also say Robbie Keane is lousy. Crouch is not a bad player else he wouldnt have gotten into England squad. but i juz feel he's too ordinary n wouldnt be able to make any significant contributions at Pool. does he excite u whenever he comes on? i doubt so.

Liverpool's potential investors, a Far East Sovereign Wealth Fund that includes Kenny Huang, r looking 2 secure a takeover of the club @ a knockdown price.
The investors intend 2 use their funds 2 pay 4 the new stadium & new players rather than line the pockets of owners George Gillett & Tom Hicks as the shares are "worthless".
"The owners will be a Far East Sovereign Wealth Fund of which Kenny Huang will be one of 2 main partners & owners of Liverpool football club,'' a source close to the talks revealed. "The Sovereign Wealth Fund has been in touch with the Bank & the Liverpool board 2 inform them tat they do not value the equity of the company higher than the debt.
