All Arsenal passing, and few chances, but we haven't put together any period of sustained pressure.

What was he trying to do? Or prove? Seems senseless to me :mad:

Anyway, great start thus far :D, [oops I said toooo soon!! ] Haiz! cheers bros ...............

Yeah Pak P have to do so (great save though)

What a waste

But better a draw than a lost

Courageous from Liverpool for playing with 9 men

Go Liverpool Go!

Yup. True test will be away game - that's where we really floundered last season.

Unfortunate own goal by Reina but it's quite instinctive so can't blame him. Must be the most number of finger tip saves I have seen in a game.

Very unnecessary, get sent off at the opponent's corner flag. He's hurt us for the next 3 games now.

silly red card by cole, he'd let his team down... but wat a great drama by the arsenal defender to leave the field in stretcher as if he'd broken some bones..!! guess cole may have broke his pedicured toe nail....

encounter some problem with internet streaming at the start of 2nd half and miss tat goal...!! &%#$%

great great fighting spirit by the team... played the entire 2nd with 10 man, and ended the match with 9.5 man...
hat off to agger not to abadone his team and try to come back on after he's down unwell...
tis is the Liverpool we used to see before last season... always fight to the end and get a result against the odds...

unlucky goal to concede by riena, but not as unlucky as the "beach ball goal" (sorry, i simply can't get over TAT goal..) i think he's the gk who had conceded most number of bizzare goals...
actually was contended with a draw when cole was red carded, but ended disappointing after seeing we put up such a good fight... think we just about to deserve a victory...
ngog should have put the ball in the net with tat free header off gerrard freekick... and he had a header cleared off the line too..

still feeling a bit hard done by the unlucky goal and some referee decisions...

well... great performance and better luck, hope the team can build on it...

under normal circumstances i guess most of us would have accepted the 1-1 scoreline. but to let in a late silly goal and drop 2 pts at home, n in the 1st match of the season is kinda heartbreaking.

but a slight consolation that we met a weakened arsenal team so early in the season. if we were playing with 10 men against a team with RVP n Fab we could have been finished off tonite.

i guess we just have to stay positive n look forward to the next tough game against ManC next wk.

very suay la... pepe must need cleansing..

as most bros pt out, the way we lost the 2 pts... tough to swallow..

good fighting spirit shown by the whole liverpool team.. its a encouraging start to the new season...

and j.cole really was STUPID to tackle like that AT THE F CORNER FLAG!!.. thats even the most silly sch boy error.. so wad is he got the ball? its gonna go out for throw in at that spot.. its not even worth it.. i wonder sometimes do they think of that at all?? ..

that remind me of Carlo Ancelotti's recent comment on joe cole vs benayoun. seems like he is right. :D

It was really not a malicious challenge from cole, however the way the young boy roll & roll over the ground plays a part in the sending off :o

Anyway, it was really a devastating feeling to concede in the last min, next match hopefully we can perform like what we have done in the 2nd half (Yes, the 1st half was terrible).

i dun tink this was wat carlo meant when he said dat, afterall its joe's first career red card and tbf, how much did cole really get to play under carlo? afterall terry was the one pushing very hard for fabio to incl joe in the england line up.

anyway, i dun tink it was worthy of a red (honestly). it was a pretty standard kind of yellow card foul. the immediate body language of the referee after the sending off seems to tell me he had some regret and dat the referee partially tried to make amends by sending dat arsenal player off at the end. if he had not sent joe off, he may not have given the 2nd yellow...

i tink it was 2 years back when we had to play arsenal something like 3 consecutive games and we lost 2 of them (can't remember if we won or dre the 3rd one) so going by dat measure, i tink we did ok.

finally i found it hilarious at the begining of the telecast when the commentator explained the total absence of cesc as "extended break after the world cup" - err, wad did he do during the world cup dat needs an extended break? got even play 45mins? compared to kuyt and mascherano who played a lot lot more...his heart is just not at arsenal.

2 footed lunges are always tough calls for referees. unless you are right in front of the crime scene, else it's very hard to judge if the player used both his legs to lunge at the opponent's legs.

i watched the replay a few times and i think the ref probably had no choice as cole appeared to let fly both legs. Ref could have made a 'home ground' decision by letting cole off with a yellow but he stood firm. probably he wanted to send a strong early warning to all the other clubs that the EPL will not cordon dangerous plays.

look at it positively, cole got his red so early in his 1st competitive epl game. he will mature with more games and hopefully will not be so recklessly dumb in the future.

his creative flair to unlock manc's defence will be sorely missed in our next game.

After watching the replay umpteen times, have to agree with the ref's decision. RH and the club also agree with me. :D

"Roy Hodgson said after the game that the club would analyse the incident before deciding whether to lodge an appeal. Liverpool have now chosen not to take the matter further, meaning Cole will miss clashes against Manchester City, West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City."

i think he was unlucky in the sense tat the ref chose his tackle to "send a strong warning"... after the ref actually closed one eye on wilshire's equally "red-card-able" tackle on marcherano and our own gerrard's hard tackles on arshavin (or some arsenal player) earlier....

he may be missed more for matches vs birmingham (defensively strong last season, but they'd lose joe hart) and WBA (may chose to park a bus after kena hammered by cheski in their 1st match)... we need his creativity as we always struggle to break down such team in the past...
