Dun be expecting too much. Liverpool have a Europa League game on thursday and then play the Scums less than 48 hrs later.

I dun see how they gonna win the Scums with tired legs. :(

well, Scums too will be playing in Europe but in the Champs league. They too will have tired legs BUT they have quality backup. Old fox can always summon old men Giggs n Scholes who could still give 101%. Or even 2nd stringers like Hernandez and Park who could wreak havoc in our defence. Bring on that tricky lil Owen (im bias here but dun say he's a traitor can? :D) and he's likelier to score than Ngog or Babel.

If you compare quality, man for man, we wont lag too much behind the Devils. Juz look at some of our quality players like SG, Torres, Reina, Carra, Raul, Cole, Johnson. Babel n Maxi on their day will be worth more than a handful for the opponents. but it's our form n confidence that's worrying. we seemed to lack understanding and play as a cohesive unit. the 'semangat' (which coaches in the Msian Cup days like to use this term :D) was sorely missing. is it cos the club ownership woes is rubbing in on all the players? or is it cos of RH's training n tactics? or is it cos some of the players are relatively new n need more playing time together??? or has it become a bad habit that had 'grown' into the team over the years???

I juz hope our players play whole-heartedly, give their 110%. even if we do lose, i will accept defeat graciously but definitely not if we displayed the kind of performances exemplified in our past 3 matches. i think many fans will be contented with a draw, given the kind of difficult situation we are in. But I hope all the players go in with that mindset to aim for that illusive win.

Meireles is a quality player if he play like yesterday.
Got excellent game intelligence. :D
He is going to be another key player like Gerrard n Torres. :D

He doesn't sound like English! I felt that he was trying to prove himself too much , just like our Liverpool godson, Lucas the referee!I just don't see him belongs to Anfield....he looks like a second grade player to me!I think Insua is much better than him!Did i see another RB?

Dun worry, Pool always gets good results when playing against strong teams....when everyone is writing them off.

The scums play tonight so they will have 4 days to rest & prepare for saturday's game whereas Pool has to play again the day after.

At this level the players need at least 65 hours rest for their bodies to recover to optimum level. If RH uses the same players from thursday's game, they can only perform at most 70% of their capability.

the big clash is on Sunday.

a big headache for RH which games he should prioritise - Europa or the clash with Devils. im sure many fans will take the Devils clash anytime.

if i were RH, i will take a gamble n rest SG n Torres. Maybe even put J Cole on the subs bench n let him play for last 15 mins to condition himself for Sun clash. let Babel & Ngog run the show upfront. worst scenario, salvage a draw. still have another 5 matches to redeem. :D

It's quite clear what Scum have done vs Rangers and we should follow suit and rest our players. I disagree though on Cole - he has not played for 3 weeks more or less and should get a full run out in the Europa. I'd also like to see Raul get a solid 70 mins under his belt too, and some mins for Pacheco.

Scum are not firing on all cylinders right now and have lost Valencia. But they always turn up against us, so taking nothing for granted.

Pool have always seem to lose ground wen playing the "lower rung" team but wen RH was appointed i was hoping with his knowledge of these teams Pool is able to beat the "lower rungs" easily. IMHO the present team is not championship material. our hope is to gain as much ground as possible in the league and to keep the spirit and legend of LIVERPOOL alive.

I really do not see the point when we are able to perform better against "bigger" teams & then take our foot off against "smaller" teams.

After 38 matches, the accumulated points counts for everything - thats the problem with us for the past few seasons - when we were beating the big 3 home & away & getting so many draws & losses against bottom clubs, where can we land up at ?

Potential & long term goal is just not what im expecting tough, just need a great season for us ..(that's the reason why i do not like the management of gooners anyway).

It was a mistake to see RH here (for me anyway), but then again - when the club is still run by the Americans, what more can we expect.

God must bless us this season :)

When we are expected to win, we don't and by the slimest of margins. When we are expected to lose, we do perform miracles at times.

Sunday is more important than the Europa League.
unexpected result, was kind of expecting a tight score. but 4-1 against Steaua Bucuresti,a good result.

Agreed.
Last nite game against Steaua was a good win, with the much-maligned Lucas scoring his 3rd (?) goal in Reds shirt, and Ngog capping a fine performance with a brace.
Applaud RH for being able to blood in youngsters like Spering, Kelly, Pachero & Eccleston and still able to get the desired result.

But the real acid test will be against scums on Sunday, end result of which will be a more-or-less true reflective of Reds credentials for this season.
