Yeah I agree too. Groupings where you don't know the other guys well and have not explicitly set down rules of conduct normally end with somebody being a pain in the ass. Of course it's better and more fun all around when it's all brothers with the same playing style. We want wingmen, not cock blockers! Haha. :D

Good points by someone with obviously more experience in those places than myself. My own visits to those have just been different degrees of disaster. I tried solo ONCE. This was a now-gone place on Nguyen Phi Khanh street. I was taken to a room and beers brought in. I tipped mamasan 200,000 at the outset, which I'd been told was wise, and which was the going rate to get good service in those days. A lineup was brought in and it was really sub-par, nothing interesting basically. Afternoon here by the way, not sure it matters or not. I selected one of them who was barely ok. She sat down and we started having the beers and fruit. I think I'm (at least on this occasion) in the category of not being a ladies man because I was not able to get any fun going, and she wasn't really trying either. She was not initiating anything, and my efforts were pushed away. After about an hour it was obvious that this was a dead end, nothing to be salvaged. I didn't want her phone number, she was no fun to be with. I got my bill, and with tips and everything it cost over a million. So for a no-fun-at-all visit, it cost me that much. On the way out I was able to see much cuter young girls than were in my lineup sitting around in the hallway.

I've had at least one visit that was like you describe, with a group, big bill and no fun, I got there later and when it came time for me to get a girl they just kept bringing in one unattractive one, they did that a few times until I just accepted they had no cute girls available. Then a guy who came after me, they brought in a cute one to show him and he got her, so it was pretty frustrating.

I went to one with just one Vietnamese guy -- he got the fun, I got the butterfly who kept leaving the room and not coming back. I was the one paying, treating my VN friend. It reached the point of absurdity where I was just sitting there for 20 minutes watching him play with his girl, while I sat alone drinking my beer.

This next one doesn't count cuz it wasn't in Saigon, but in another small town, a few times I ran into pure ripoff situations where after we left the room, the staff opened all the remaining beer bottles in the case, I even literally caught them in the act once, and then they charged us for the whole case. Refusing to pay that inflated bill led them to grab clubs and rocks to threaten to hit us with. But I think this can only happen if you are way out there. I don't think there's a risk of anything like this happening in areas that foreigners frequent (at least I hope not).

This reminds me of some times when I went to places with buddies who really shoudl have known better.

Once was with a friend who always liked to bargain hard for everything. It was one of those girl bars on HBT when that was good and reasonably priced. I was with a girl I had met before there, he was with another girl, and me and mine sat across from he and his. Well, he liked flirting in an attention-getting way, and that led to their bargaining ("you take me hotel") and haggling over the price in a way that it was like the center of attention for the whole table, and he enjoyed the game of teasing her with comebacks to whatever she said, and also I sensed he had no intention at all of taking the girl to a hotel, but was just enjoying this teasing game. And this just went on and on and on. He just got a kick out of being an asshole, basically As this was happening, my girl whispered to me, "next time, come alone, it's better alone."

Another time with another buddy, this at Sixteen bar in district 3 (still there, I think), two of us had a couple girls at our table, and they asked for drinks which we obliged, but then they didn't exactly warm up to us after that, it was a bit difficult, our Vietnamese not really good enough to carry things. I went to use the toilet, expecting to come back and try more, and if that failed, invite different girls over. I came back to our table and the girls were gone. My friend started telling me that he got pissed off at their attitude and told them to leave, and he was still a bit heated when he was saying this, so I guess he had a bad scene with them when I was away. I was like, Dude, what the fuck. Why did you fucking do that.

And I knew both these guys well, had no reason to expect things would go this badly with them. Sometimes places like these can bring out the hidden retard in people you think you know. These and other bad experiences led me to focus on going to mongering places solo and not with friends.

I think the truth is that the danchoi ad is real and we now know the 2nd one on goihang is fake for sure. I think for the 500 ad, they just stole pictures from the first one. Why? Duh, she's hot.

That's my theory at least. I've seen the first one reposted on danchoi many times, back as far as November at least. And I also bookmarked the 500 ad because I wondered if it was the same girl with lower price (unlikely, I thought) or a fake ad.

The danchoi one has been on my short list of ones to try, actually.

Dude when I do a website girl I'll post about it, swear. I haven't done one in a long time. I made 2 attempts right before Tet that both got messed up cuz I didn't have passport with me. arrive yesterday morning, finish meeting at 4pm.
cut the story short.

Le duyen 4: gal at 7 on average. Just for the experience of it, interesting. Total abt 500k plus tip
dainam : nice spa above average syt. Took the standard room + 300k tip
Finish the night ard 1am with hopping bars in bu vien. Feel like thailand backpacker street. Just drink n talk rubbish there.

stay in new world.. hated catwalk as I stay lower floor can hear the bass of the disco. Good thing about new world I had fun disturb all the wechat gal (cheap thrill). After 10pm I just start replying to msg in wechat saying "usd100 come now" when all hear new world.. All sad smiley ...haha. but then 1 gal say can!!! pay usd20 as tip to reception sure can come up. Interesting, kopi mone always work in saigon Anyway not worthed it, many of the pic are photoshop or got ok, video call a few gals but look a bit different from pic.

As for tonight maybe thinking of going bars in D5 to check out.

Feel a bit like taiwan (taizhong n taiwan) where things tend to be more secretive. Gals wise... feel like china 20 yrs ago where the country just open up. Hungry for "sales", direct and straight to the point.

I tend to like more on gfe type of gal but I doubt it is possible in D1 if I only spend 2 nights. I guess also because I am in tourist district.

Logo very similar to sg vivo. Heard manage by sg company. D7 is new district, trying to develop the place to a "atas" district. Heard that certain area police cannot come in to patrol as they have not legal rights.
