Our lack of attacking quality showed. It's still the Gerrard-Torres show. Except now Gerrard is older and slower, Torres is still not 100% match fit. I'm a bit worried that Torres doesn't seem as hungry as he used to be. Remember how he used to pressure defenders into mistakes (defending from the front..). Give the new guys a few more games to fit in. I think they'll come good. Konchesky is pacy. He looks like he will fit in with Agger and Skrtel. (Tattoo, tough guy look) Some girls I know wonder why we keep signing gangster looking players... :p How I wish for more Alonso too. (skill-wise)

I must say RH's substitutions are to my liking. More attack minded. Makes the game more exciting to watch. My friends were commenting that at 2-2, Rafa would have packed the defence with substitutions. Sure, we might have 1 more point but it's 3 points for a win so sometimes it's better to try to win. 10 draws gets us 10 points, 5 wins and 5 losses gets us 15 points.

I think we'll be fine this season. Victory might just come early this season. (think 6th oct). I don't mind us not winning any cups this season if we can get rid of the 2 idiots. Americans... sometimes you wonder why the rest of the world is so angry with them. But then again, sometimes you don't need to wonder why...

So true. Sometimes you really have to wonder 9-11 happens for what reason. Thou it's cruel to kill but then again, it's their bloody arrogance that piss you off big time.

caught the game and it was almost 1 way track for scum in the 1st half and till berbatov scored that beauty 2nd.. then we began to try to fight back but fell short in the end..

its the defending from set pieces which again is our weakness even if under RH, its changed to man marking .. FT marking Berbatov was horrible on replay.. and Carra was out jumped for the 3rd goal..


i thought that konchesly played ok, and he would have kept out or pressed o'shea for that cross.. Agger and Skrtel cant be played in CB together? Cos Carragher still is good but he's not that young/ quick anymore..

when we played 4-4-1-1 , torres will always be marked with hounds on his tail. that's why the mid has to support him with options so we can attack. Our atack was non existent until that penalty. On the whole, least we can see our team trying to win and efforts.. so let's get back into the top half of the table in the next few games...

agreed that it is still the gerrard & torres show & gerrard is getting slower & older which it's why he should be deployed in central midfield alongside either meireles or poulsen and jole cole push upfront to support torres. remember the pass to torres that earned the penalty?? joe cole would do more of that in an advanced position instead of wasting time on the left flank which i thought jovanovic was doing quite well recently, so i think RH made a mistake there for the Man U game.

when gerrard is in midfield, he was winning tackles & distributing the ball plus helping out in defence so his natural position is in CM. i thought maxi was hopelssly lost throughout the game & i think ryan babel instead of ngog would be a better replacement as he has more skill & pace to trouble evra, kind of miss kuyt on the right flank..........:rolleyes:

overall, a satisfactory performance from the reds at old trafford as we only lost to a superb berbatov hattrick & o shea shd be sent off.

a definate improvement from the birmingham game and we can only progress and get better from here...........right???

Dumped out of the Carling Cup by a League 2 club and less a trophy to fight for.

It's clear we are not making a good start under RH. :(

Northampton may be a 4th tier team but they had something last night that Liverpool did not have...... TEAMWORK !

Having a rojak team of internationals is of no use if they cannot play together....... Northampton deserved their win last night for the way they worked as a team and the effort they put in for each other.

Liverpool players were more individualistic and I thought I saw a couple of "Lone Rangers" who must have thought they were Messi or Torres and tried to take on the whole opposing team by themselves. :mad:

I'd rather they lose now than later in the semi or final. Should concentrate in winning matches in BPL and aim for the UEFA league spot. Not forgetting Chelski, Tottenham and Man City also out of the League Cup...What's the point in winning the League Cup and get relegated in the coming May :rolleyes:
