Well, unless they win ALL the remaining games at Anfield ... every trick Rafa try to pull this season will mean nothing.
I will be really delighted if we can get 4 points from our home games against Chelski & MU.
Anyway if we beat Chelski & MU defeat Arse, does that mean we help to handle the title to the Scums ? :(

How about for the remaining of this season ...
1) Reds beat Chelsea (Jan), Everton (Feb), MU & Arsenal (Mar) at home, as well as beat Portsmouth (Apr) away ...
2) MU drop points against Arsenal (Jan), Spurs (Feb), Portsmouth & Chelsea (Apr), Man City (May) away, as well as drop points against Portsmouth (Jan), Bolton & Blackburn (Mar) at home ...
3) Chelsea drop points against Portsmouth (Mar), Arsenal (May) away, as well as drop points against Blackburn (Jan), Spurs, MU & Bolton (Apr) at home ...
4) Arsenal drop points against Spurs (Apr), Portsmouth (May) away, as well as drop points against MU (Jan), Bolton (Apr), Chelsea (May) at home ...

Now ... you know why it is ALL still mathematically possible?? :D

You can do better than quote an article from the official site bro. None of them are critical about any manager and it is understandable the site doesn't want to divide the fans by doing so.

Some better articles on Souness:
http://www.thisisanfield.com/content.php?page_id=93
http://www.lfc4ever.de/id76.htm
http://www.lfcbootroom.net/comment4.htm
http://www.lfchistory.net/managers_p...?manager_id=13

Let's make it simple. I will cite his failings below and you give a list of his successes (bar the FA Cup, which should not be your only case I hope).

Then we can go on and look at the wider context and say which failures/success are due to the man and which made the man. Or else all these general remarks also no use.

Souness' Management
Management: only one style: discipline and more discipline. While this was necessary in light of the drinking culture at Anfield then (and elsewhere), other managers like Houllier and Rafa have inculcated a more disciplined approach without upsetting players and bootroom.

Good players signed or nurtured
Macca
Fowler
Mark Wright
Rob Jones
Jamie Redknapp
David James

The young players flourished particularly under Evans.

Poor players
Julian Dicks
Dean Saunders
Nigel Clough
Torben Piechnik
Istvan Kozma
Paul Stewart

Undecided
Michael Thomas
Neil Ruddock
Mark Walters
Stig Inge Bjornebye

Now the real stuff, results (I mean every manager can sign duds - see Houllier Cheyrou, Diouf, and Diao, and Rafa Josemi and Nando).

League performance
1990/1991 2nd (season end)
1991/1992 6th (full season)
1992/1993 6th (full season)
1993/1994 8th (till January 1994)

Cups
1991/1992 FA Cup winner (beat Sunderland 2-0)
1992/1993 FA Cup defeat by Bolton (home)
1993/1994 FA Cup defeat by Bristol City (home)

Dear all

Good piece of news about the investment:

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has revealed the takeover of the club by investors from Dubai is almost complete and that a concrete announcement will be made 'relatively soon'.

Another word, bro if you mean the board screwed up by appointing the wrong man, I'm totally in agreement with you. And the club should have gotten rid of Souness way before 1994.

The club also screwed up by appointing Evans and trying to restore the old culture. Although in this case, Evans was a much better manager. Souness was a poor manager under a piss poor board, I will grant you that.

Back then Liverpool policy was to turn to old boys or those who were involved in the club for successor...Houllier if not wrong was the very first manager appointed that had no prior connection with the team..

Roy Evans was not bad a manager, if he had controlled the Spice boy better...

Redknapp was one of the best midfield around that time, can could have gone on to be a Liverpool Great & England great had he not suffered so much injuries..

Same as Fowler.. Think too busy party till his form dropped...

Thats true abt Evans but he also had such huge problems with the defense - does anyone remember Phil Babb the record signing for a defender? Or Kvarme?

Of cos years to come and we will look similarly at how much problem Rafa had in signing wide players or even strikers!

On our day, Evans' team can play anyone off the pitch but there were many others when we stank up the pitch and lost 1-0.

At Chelsea, Terry rally his support behind JM. Wonder whether will Gerard do the same for Rafa?
