Then, the next occurrence was accomplished by the Gunners in 1971 - our Ray Kennedy was in that team.

After that, it was a long gap until 1986 ... before the Reds became the 3rd English club to do so - beating Everton convincingly in the FA Cup Final at Wembley no less.
That 1988 wretched game against Wimbledon (or should I say Dave Beasant) was to be remembered as the Reds almost becoming the 1st English club to do the Double twice.

It pains me to say this, but the Scums snatched away that honour, as well as that of the 1st English club to do the Double thrice ... clinching it first in 1994, then in 1996 & lastly in 1999 (the luckiest 2 minutes ever known to Mankind).
Arsenal also became the 2nd English club to do the Double twice & thrice respectively ... first in 1998 & then in 2002.

Thanks for the education ;) I only remembered Pool were going to break some record going into what seemed to be an easy tie against the Crazy Gang.

Actually, we already did ... under Houllier.
The same season we won the UEFA Cup, we won 4-5 other trophies in 1 calendar year.

In contrast, I rather LFC just win the EPL year in year out ... spiced with a Champions League or FA Cup, every 5 years or so. :D

You've never heard of the Andy Cole joke??
Here goes ... years ago, Naomi Campbell was in UK & ran into Alex Ferguson - she asked for an autograph ... Ferguson asked, "Where you want me to sign??" She replied, "right here" before proceeding to lift up her mini-skirt & pushed her panty away from her pussy.
Ferguson screamed, "No way!! No fucking way!! The last black cunt I signed, he cost me 8 million pounds!!!"
Well, for those who were way too young to remember ... Andy Cole couldn't score goals after joining Scums from Newcastle.

Since we're still ahead of Arsenal, they can't catch us as long as we win ALL our remaining matches.
Unless we win ALL our remaining matches, there's really no point in hoping Scums & Chelsea drop points ... so, do you agree that Arsenal winning against Scums last night was the best result possible??

GERRARD GETS ONE OVER BARCA STAR
21 January 2007

Steven Gerrard has seen off stiff competition from Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to make it into the uefa.com Team of the Year.
The Liverpool skipper was voted Europe's best right-winger by football fans across the continent.

Almost four million votes were cast by uefa.com users, with three Premiership stars making the final cut.

The team in full is:

Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus)
Gianluca Zambrotta (Barcelona)
Fabio Cannavaro (Real Madrid)
Carles Puyol (Barcelona)
Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich)
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal)
Kaká (AC Milan)
Ronaldinho (Barcelona)
Thierry Henry (Arsenal)
Samuel Eto'o (Barcelona)

Well done for everyone who voted, he to rightly deserved that crown as the best right mid last year in europe. Shame he wasn't able to be voteable in central midfield but still well deserved :)

Ha ha. No, din heard this one b4. But Cole did very well later with the other black guy (alamak forgot his name liao). They really terrorised the opponents then.

Well, we need to win all our matches and that is something within our control (unless we inexplicably screw up again). But, we also need others to drop points to help us too. I am not so sure if the Gunners win is really a good result. That win give them the extra push and confidence and maybe they will get on a very good run and that may very well come back and haunt us. I hope not, but the ball is round. But anyway, MU lose also means gap is narrower which is also good (esp for Chelski)

But between the results, I would still prefer a draw, if not a MU win cos that will give us better chance to get the 2nd spot. But that is just my opinion.:)

Cheers

Yes King, it was one of the better years under Houllier, I believe the cups were the Milk Cup, FA Cup (Owen scored two goals against Arsenal in the Finals), UEFA Cup (what a thriller 5-4 against Alaves), Super Cup and the Charity Shield..of course detractors then point out that this are "Kucing Kurap" Cups but just wonder have any other English teams ever done this feat before?

Tiger vs Carlsberg.

I think this is the most unflattering of the ads of the top clubs by far.
