I agree that Shearer took all the penaties for his club..

But its not as if there are penalty every 4-5 games...

Shearer to me is a typical British striker and he really know how to score!

To me, he is truly a world class finisher... I'm sure not many bros will disagree.. :D

yes, Shearer not only was a top drawer striker for years, a goal machine and a fantasic play maker. Haha a true legend. Pity he got to go, he was the main motivation for the club. Think if he was still there he probably would have got 8 goals by now.

Heard a ITK rumour that Shearer is going to make a return to playing for the Magpies. He has been training with them a lot lately and they are pleading with him to help them out of the current crisis. He's going to do it once he feels up to full fitness. Don't know how true this is, but i rather he be coaching though :)

I am really shocked after reading this
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...405882&cc=4716

If DIC is really that interested in taking over LFC,why can't they just wait for few more days or try to match Gillete's bid ? I still believe David Moores & Rick Parry will always do what's best for the club.

Hopefully this won't affect our performance on the pitch come this Saturday
against the Bluenose.

If you already had a verbal agreement from the seller over a private apartment flat at $800k ... then the seller tell yu he needs more time becoz another person has counter-offered $880k ... are you gonna up your offer to make sure you get the apartment?? What if the other person counter-offer a higher price again??
Moreover, this is not even $80k difference we're talking about ... it's 8m pounds leh.

I'm not so sure now that David Moore has LFC's best interest at heart ... if you're already gonna be a multi-millionaire (worst fact is that he's already a fucking billionaire since his family owns the Littlewoods chain), why greed over a mere 8m??
In the club's best interest, the deal had to go through asap ... so that work on the new stadium can start soonest - this is where the money for new big-time players is gonna be generated from. Over 8m into his personal pocket, David Moores has just screwed up LFC's chances of matching the coffers of the BIG & RICH clubs!!!

As for Rick Parry, he's just another employee ... not unlike Phil Kenyon at Chelsea. He has no say in what David Moores will do, even if he does have LFC's interests at heart ... anyway, we dun even know if he's still gonna be around after any of the take-over.

It's hard to say what really happened. But first, it was DIC which pulled out, apparently cos the Sheik was angry about Pool not accepting their offer.

Second, it may have been the minority shareholders such as Granada which wanted to study the American proposal.

Personally I have nothing against Moores or Parry. I just hope the matter gets settled quickly and we don't end up with nothing yet again.

Well done bluenose for defending so well
Pennant scored a beauty against Chelski,we can't take that away, but we do need a top class right winger if we wanna challenge for EPL title next season.

Well, I look at it this way ...
Rafa sprung a surprise tactically, as in he played Alonso in a deeper position but while he saw more of the ball, he was not confident enough most of the time. Same applied to Kuyt & even Crouch ... I thought they really had that 0-3 Goodison defeat still shaking them deep in their minds.
Testimony to that was the disallowed goal in the first half ... instead of building on that, most of the Reds became easily frustrated the rest of the game. :(

I just hope Arsenal dun get more than a draw & Spurs beat the Scums in their own backyard tomorrow.

The whole team didn't perform well. Alonso was out of sorts. Gerrard was running around aimlessly quite a bit. Kuyt was getting frustrated. We were lucky Pepe did a great job this time.

Wonder how much of this can be attributed to:

a) the DIC issue? Could this be playing on the players' minds?
b) Rafa using the 3-men attack scheme too often? Has it become too predictable?
c) the team tried too hard, because it is a local derby. If they had relaxed a bit more and played their usual game, maybe things may have been different?
d) the team tried too hard because they know they are getting closer and closer to the coveted 2nd spot?

No doubt Everton played pretty good defensively. But, if we had used the flanks more, esp the left side, instead of always trying to go down the congested middle, maybe things might have been different.

Cheers
