I think we have followed Stevie for too long. I don't think we need to 'replace' him. Of course we should get good young midfielders in his position after he retires, but I won't want another Gerrard-led team for the next 10 years. We need to build a strong deep squad rather than have a leader who dominates everyone else. And we need to develop new areas of strength in our team, build a new team around new world class players. |
Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Agree !!! We are reply too much on captain Stevie that's why very often we look like a normal team when he not playing
Sometimes I prefer we hv a group of hardworking player but can produce result rather than a team too reply on star player but flop when they cannot perform !!! Really hate to see that Anyway looks like our youth player are progressing n looking forward to see them in the near future |
Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
If Pool beats West Ham tonite, high chance KD may clinch the Manager of the Month (Feb). think closest challenger shd be old wily Fergie.
btw does anyone know if Carroll will be fit in time to play agt Devils next wk? the latest report i read abt 2 or 3 wks back says he's fighting to be fit for that match. |

Reading by that...... I think Carroll will most likely be on the bench and not as a starter. :D |

Agree that we should not reply on captain too much
The match against Man U frankly to say we still need him cos his passion running vision n energy provide the element to win against big team and this is something that currently the Reds lack of !!! |
Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
West Ham United v Liverpool
* Liverpool have won their last four Premier League games against West Ham, scoring three goals in each match. * West Ham have lost 13 of their last 16 Premier League encounters with the Reds. * West Ham have kept only one clean sheet in their last eight Premier League home games against Liverpool. * West Ham's last seven Premier League goals have been scored by forwards. * Raul Meireles has scored in five of Liverpool's last six games. * Liverpool have not won three Premier League away games in succession since May 2009. * If the season had started on January 1 2011, Liverpool would be third. Will we break the jinx or??? |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
What is happening to the midfield. West Ham is dominating the midfield and winning the balls.

Gutted for Kelly, our best player, went down like a warrior running the ball to the byline as he did numerous times. |

didnt even see Suarez take a decent shot. the killer passes fr SG n Mireles were missing tonite. as tho it's not bad enuff, 1 of our best players Kelly had to be taken off cos of injury. it will take some inspirational magic fr SG, Mireles or maybe even Cole in the 2H to get us out of jail! |

Reina gets beaten at his near post? The last goal was disappointing. Can see him checking how far he is positioned from the near post. He made adjustments and still got beaten at the near post. Sigh... |
Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Poor performance despite our second half fightback. If only we hadn't been so shit in the first...
It's been on the cards - our performances in the last few matches have been limp. I hope this is not a rush of adrenalin with Kenny coming in and then we crash again. :( On the plus side, some decent attacking play by Stevie, Cole and Suarez in the second half. I particularly liked Suarez's low centre of gravity and ability to turn his marker - class! He made the goal and could have scored himself. |
