It is the same season. i think 1990. crystalpalace went on to meet MU in the final, where it a 3-3 draw. Ian Wright ,who was playing for CP then, scored a hat trick. They lost 1-0 to MU in the replay to a mark hughes goal. MU went on to the now defunct win cup winners cup following season. CP had some interesting players Ian Wright-before gg to Arsanel, and andy Gray etc. They were quite nce to watch cos they played fast game, improving especially after the 9-0 thrashing by POOL

Paul Konchesky - one of the final signings of the Hicks & Gillett era - is expected to complete a £1.5million move back to former club Fulham at the end of the season, ending his nightmare spell at Liverpool. Who's got the champagne?

Anyone saw Kuyt's 2 goals for Holland? Wow... Especially that last goal. Chip the ball over the keeper, from 20 metres I think. Kuyt's surprisingly good this year, given how little he rested in June with Holland going all the way to the World Cup Finals.

I think the first priority now is the power shot, then the placement into the corners and then the chip. Maybe with defenders being so quick now, the chip runs the risk of getting cleared off the line.

Very few wingers know how to properly cross a ball too. I feel a proper cross will be to run to the byline and float a ball into the penalty box at the slight angle. As the slight angle takes the ball further away from the goalkeeper, it is always going to favour a tall striker who is running into the penalty box with momentum. John Barnes does these crosses damn well. I think Riera does this pretty well too. When was the last time we hear people talking about squaring your passes... :p

Nowadays, the wingers cross in from much higher up the pitch. End up the ball gets nearer to the goalkeeper the longer it floats in the air. Easier for the keeper to catch, harder for the striker to head (keeping the header down). This is how Aurelio and Johnson cross the ball.

I think this brings to mind two of the best wingers that ever played for the club Steve Heighway and Steve McManaman. The ball like seems to be glued to their feet whenever they bring it down the bye line.
