Btw this was really a small side up front but our movement and passing were splendid

our quick one-touch short passings were impressive last nite...

good to see that although we were leading comfortably, we din stop attcking and creating soring chances...

impressed by the 2 young fullbacks, solid performance thou both did give away few balls unecessary, it totally din look like it's only their 3rd senior games..

look at the Devils' superb mental strength which always win them matches.
really wonder how they are always able to produce human machines every season which give them that consistency. Or how the weak Gunners crumble under pressure in recent matches.

thou i hate to admit, tat's mental strength of a winning team... always "lucky" to manage to win without playing well, or scoring late goal to win a crucial match, or pressure referee to get favourable decision...

it's something the current gunners is lacking, they broke down in the run-in esp. after tat cup loss to birmingham.. btw, they had just lost to another late goal to bolton (1-2)...

Ars' weaklink this season is undoubtedly their defence. Wenger was criticised for not willing to invest in a quality defender n goalkeeper. look at how many games they had surrendered leads this season n dropped pts ... WBA, Newcastle, Pool, Spurs etc. And how their title hopes were killed by 2 setpieces!

Bolton played an excellent tactical defensive game which they invited Ars to attack, then packed their defence in busloads n hit Ars on the counter. (actually i was quite surprised cos I expected Bolton to play an attacking game @ home) Credit to Bolton for their magnificent defending which they cut out all the Ars crosses effectively. Now I wonder if Ars have any confidence left to beat Devils next wk! Worst, at the rate they are playing, they might even end up 4th this season!

*PS: Sorry bros for goin off topic here. Beside supporting Pool as the main team, i realised i may be subconsciously supporting Chelsea n Arsenal for (juz) the next few wks. :D

As for KD bringing more youth means he have more choices when the 1st team player get injured or suspend
Well done to both of them really excited looking forward for the next season as AF did say next season Liverpool is a force to be reckon of

u guys give KD too much credit,if u guys remember when he was the manager the first time ard there were no young players coming thru, way back than he was buying them frm the time he took over in 86 and by the time he left,he left us a ageing team,he won the premiership with blackburn by also spending ,no young players coming thru there.give some credit to damien comoli the director of football,i guess he is doing is job by looking at the palyers at the academy, discussed it with KD,why splash the cash when u have young player coming thru,we shd splash the cash to buy quality players who cld give us a slight edge over our rivals.we seem to be going back to the old days of slowly introducing palyers into the first team.i guess we cld see 2 or 3 big name buys come end of the season.comoli s got an eye for players< look at the players he brought to spurs the only problem was there was no communication between him and jol.i think KD and DC have been excellent,as much as i want KD to be the fulltime manager i guess it might be sumone younger nxt season.i don think they have offered KD the job yet.

And Rafa too for restructuring the academy (I can't comment on the 1980s as I don't know how the youth setup was).

As for the job, I have been afraid of that too. But every single victory is going to push the Yanks towards Kenny's contract.

many ppl overlooked wat rafa has done to our academy...

i think kenny is more or a "motivator" type of manager, tat's y i'm still quite undecided over kenny becoming our permanent manager. but with so much support from the players n fans, i think he will be offered contract soon...

This reminds me of our double Youth FA cup winning teams. How many of these cream of the nation's crop made it to the first 11 under Rafa? Can anyone think about it? Under Rafa, I think the bulk of these 2 years of talented footballers went to waste. He doesn't give these kids that much of a chance. The seniors are more or less assured of their starting places. With KD, your spot isn't guaranteed. Which is very old school considering the wages of some of the guys on the bench. The kids in the academy must be so motivated now. Which is good for us.

All said, I think Rafa was a good manager for us. He truly cares for the club. Even cries on hillsborough memorial. As a person, he's fantastic. As a manager, I wished he had given the youngsters more chances. But he did give a young lucas a lot of chances and look at lucas now.

To be a manager now is not that easy as the past cos the footballer agent , transfer kitty and club status plays a very important role
Rafa did buy alot of youngster n set up the academy but how many times we see the faces of the youth player break thru to the senior team ? Yes Lucas was given times n chances to prove himself but how many youth player had the luxury of what Lucas had ? Jay Spearing ? Maybe but not as good as now
My points is if any manager can bring out the player best potential n produce result then I think he is a good manager cos AF also can misjudge by bought in a flop player to the club

If KD was appointed permanent as a manager next season will determined whether he can be still as good as what we taught

Since Rafa is the topic here... did any of you knew that Rafa's favourite game is Football Manager? ...... his wife is always complaining that he oftens plays the game throughout the night until the next morning. ;)

I guess that's where he picked up his managerial skills. :D

off topic from this thread... but i simply like the reply that Balotelli replied...

......"Mario was pulled over by the police and he had £25,000 cash on the passenger seat. They asked him why and he said, 'Because I can'. He doesn't care much for authority."

potential signing for next season?

.......And Comolli revealed that the club are interested in St Etienne midfielder Matuidi after being impressed by his qualities, supported by statistical analysis.

"In France, all the figures prove that the player who wins the most possession at the feet of his opponents is Blaise Matuidi," Comolli told the News of the World. "That is an extraordinary strong point. When the team plays high, it means a goal chance."

just wondering if there was a deal for Daniel Sturridge to be in liverpool, he should be banging in 7 goals in 9 matches for us instead on Bolton
