a game of 2 halves, wat a disappointing 2nd half...
many players were simply not in the game in the 2nd half...
downing was a complete different player in the 2nd half, suarez understandly ran out of steam, carroll tried but failed to hit the target with his headers...
flanganan showed his inexperience in the goal conceded, i was actually surprised tat kelly din start, he maybe carrying a knock i guess..
1 player really impressed me is jose enrique, he looked solid defensively and put in few very good crosses n passes..
plenty of "if...only" to regret in 1st half...
still plenty of work to be done....

Guys cheer up, at least we played an entertaining 1st half.

Could have been 3-0 up.

Our players run out off steam in the 2nd half.

Will be better as the season progress.

YNWA... :)

Oh no.....Lucas is back again to concede fouls! Maybe it's the first game, there were not much understandings at midfield. The Sunderland goal was a bloody stupid mistake! We need to put up this last piece of puzzle to be near Top 4 this season.

Bro, I won't say we had a great first half - we dominated but our attacks was sporadic and far from flowing.

We also never got to grips with their strikers - keep standing off the forwards and midfielders and gave them so much space, just like pre-season.

Agreed about Enrique - ironically the player who just joined played better than the other debutants.

I thought Adam was OK, Downing average (nowhere in the second half), and Henderson out of place on the right (was also partly at fault for the goal).

Sad that we never recovered after the equaliser.

it's the same old bad habits again ...

1) 1st few games of the season always slow and poor

2) failure to defend leads

3) playing with initial high tempo but fizzle out as the game wears on

4) defence always kanchiong with the long balls n when under pressure - Sunderland could have even snatched a winner late in the game!

I was puzzled how we just crumbled after conceding that goal which completely rocked our confidence. before that, we were controlling the game with ample chances to finish them off while they rarely threatened.

... seems like the newbies were also affected by the Liverpool of old ... haizzzz ....:(:(

A poor result overall. Could have finished them off in the first half but yet just don't seems to have that little extra in the final quarter. Agreed Carroll looks jaded, frankly for a guy of his height, expected him to be better with his headers. But bright spark are the new signings in particular Adams and Downing thou the latter sort of faded out later in the match. Henderson think the jury still out on his performance.

Can't blame Carroll la. Enrique swung a couple of great crosses from the left, but I don't recall Downing bursting down the flanks. Too many of the balls to Carroll were from our defenders and they were easy to deal with.

I think you are right bro . If this carries on how can Liverpool hope to achieve 4th spot ? They need to be winning every game .

Yesterdays' team lacked match fitness...... but after watching the other matches I realised this is oso common in the other teams :D

Guess we will have to wait for a few matches more before we can see the real Liverpool.

thats the trouble with carroll in the team we find the easy way out and punt in the crosses hoping he wld get to it.

we could have sat nicely at the top of the table over the weekend, crowed ourselves as the joint league leaders had we won but too bad we dont have such luck. just finished watching the match which sickening devils beat WBA with a late lucky deflected shot.

That's true, last season the same.

Btw just watched West Brom lost to an unlucky touch to Scum. What I don't understand is how Hodgson can do so well to shape West Brom into an attacking side and yet fail so dismally with us.

granted most of the new players must be feeling the jitters of playing their first game at anfield, well since the psychological first game is out of the way............lets hope they improve their performance next against an arsenal side w/o fabregas, nasri & gervinho (IMHO is the best player for arsenal against newcastle)...............:o

hopefully KD will restore kuyt to the right mid instead of henderson and pls stick with downing either on the right or left flank to supply the crosses instead of putting him behind carroll late in the game against sunderland as he is not effective at all...................

come on you reds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
