Hi snr bro,

Last year I went to Beijing with 20k. Fortunately, nothing untoward happen. This time I'll b going to Shanghai with bout the same amt of cash. Pse enlightened me of any danger I may encounter. Thks

Today lunchtime dropped by indian money-changer in Shaw Tower, Beach Road to check the rate. Only offered 4.53, sibeh low morale.:(

these days hard to get above 4.65 i think ... and based on report, seems the Sing$ will be kept low until end of this year ... :(

i m not snr bro. juz another cheongster. my advise is don't let any1 know u r carrying alot of cash coz of robbery, pickpocketing. when in the hotel, immediately place the cash in2 the safe without letting any1 see, includin the housekeepers. when u give cash to mm, try not to take from the safe but prepare abit in advance coz when u open safe n she saw u have so much cash, she might stage a robbery or kidnap. juz my 2cents worth.

cheong safe. mayb can buy travel insurance but the insurer limit the payout for cash if kanna robbery.

i got $4.545 from my citibank account withdraw at atm in CP beforemoving to CA today ... and the rate is include the bank charges ..

i withdraw 3000rmb on 18th oct at the atm in CP and the rate was 4.52 including bank charges ....
i believe citibank give better rate ...

Anyway, today changed rmb at 4.542, gradually getting more n more expensive to cheong in prc. Let see if I can get more value in return for my rmb spent tis trip.:p
