Hope someone pressure them for the top spot in the epl for them to be distracted in the semis against us even tough I feel we are still better than them :D

Should be able to overcome Cardiff or palace in the finals…hey we are the most successful club in the history of the lg cup isn’t it….history again…..

We did well against them recently. Maybe Gerrard will be back by then. Always remember someone here saying 'Don't fool around with Liverpool in a knock-out competition.' :p

heard fr soccernet tat lucas will be out for at least 6 mths, which is y they recalled shelvey back fr blackpool..........tis is a big blow to us as i dont think we hv anyone now to replace him, spearing maybe the one as gerrard is so injury prone nowadays but dont think he is up for it............tis mean they might need to bring in someone in the jan trf window............:(

That's a huge blow to us indeed.

There is no quality direct replacement for Lucas in the squad. Lucas has been magnificent for us in the role he plays in. I thought he was much better than Didi Hamman in his prime.

Wee Jay definitely is a consideration, but I think Dalglish will give Henderson a chance in the middle, with Shelvey and Spearing as cover. Maxi (my Fav) is now knocking hard on the 1st team door and he should be in contention on either wing. Either that, or KD will get Gerrard to sit in front of the back four, and just harrass the hell out of the opposition. If he suges up the field, then Adams will have to cover. I think it is workable.

dun worry..mc is aiming champions league and premier league...so good time to play them...you have to win tough opponents to win cup...no point goes into final and lose...:p

did not watch the LC QF but caught the goals n read some stuff on the net...looks like bellamy, lucas, coates n kelly played really well...happy for maxi but pity Carroll missed the pen wld hv done him a world of gd to get a goal...

v happy wif the result but concerned n worried over lucas' injury...looks like his season is over...what a shame when lucas was finally coming into his own...wish him all the best in his recovery n really hope he is able to get back to the same top form that he was in prior to this bad luck injury...

as for the team...man this is a big blow what wif SG still out...Jonjo recalled bk fm blackpool but jonjo is an attacking midfielder...think time has come for jay spearing to show us whether he can step up to the plate...possible 3 man midfield of jay, adam n hendo...adam is going to feel lots of pressure becoz lucas was the backbone n spine in midfield...Hendo also needs to find his form here n now...talk of aurelio stepping in or even trying agger in the DM position...read some jokes that Carroll is a possibility as well wif his seize, current form(?!) n pony tail!!:eek:...

luckily the next few EPL games before the winter tranfer window opens(kenny n comoli may need to find adequate replacemnt for lucas, may be a loan deal?) look quite k n playable such as Fulham, QPR, Wigan etc only Newcastle n perhaps Villa may prove more challenging...but the attack now needs to find its form here n now since the reds defence may now turn vulnerable wif the sudden absence of lucas...Carroll has to find the net now; other reds need to feed Carroll better; Suarez needs to stop falling down at the slightest challenge calling for cards n be more clinical wif his finishing...downing n kuyt need to find the net now...n maxi sld be given more starts...

bitter sweet start to the xmas/new yr period...really hope the reds can pull thru this set back...

Maybe it's time for Stevie to become a defensive midfielder and begin a new stage of his career. Spearing can step up too.

dont think aurelio is mentally or physically strong enuf for the DM role, my first vote will be gerrard followed by spearing, carragher used to be a DM in his younger days so maybe he can still be in the first eleven considering how agger & skrtel hv taken over him in the CB role..............;)

suddenly everyone wants lucas to play in every match,ha ha ha football is a funny game.those detractors have gone quiet. i think maxi is a a first class person,just gets on with the job,well he did not play 60 over times for argentina for nothing.i think gerrard shd be smart enuff to do the job and keep his discipline.
