For you.... i made few calls to check, most pubs in NED area are open for biz tonight... I trust same with the night clubs, but my advise is to stay off Batam for time being, I need to stay on because I have my work to worry about, cannot just run off in times of trouble....

Local friend in batam told me that the riot starts because the workers there demanded a higher basic wage.
Also being informed that they planned for a 3 day strike and today is the 2nd day. Will get updates from her again tml.
Looks like I gota postpone virgin trip there.. Haizzz

haha!!!! so far as of 10.13 am batam 25/11...very quiet..no demo yet..last night at 6 pm BCS closed....today, some of the staff at office are being asked to go home early.....if you are still in little dot, best stay there...there are still plenty of tomorrows....batam still here...hehe!!!!!! of course, ah pek has to stay to control the situation...hehe!!!!

Some news update.

The demo started becos the Jakarta side demostrators got what they want, increase in pay.

The Batam workers( monkey see monkey do) also want to get pay rise too, and go on strike as well.

On the other hand, I have to admit that the cost of living is getting rather high becos of inflation. Many people are finding it hard to make ends meet.

Demo with riots? That will chase investors away. So far, situation is rather tense. WIll update.

Same advise for all brothers, DO NOT GO BATAM UNLESS NECESSARY. Cheonging places may not be safe as there are opportunity seekers who will make use of situation to rob, steal, etc.....

I am out liao, and wont be back until my guys tell me it is safe to be back in factory.

I always got this notion that Btm folks should be quite ok compare to other cities....coz lotsa cheongsters go there to contribute $ every day.

heard 9 demonstrators got shoot by polisi.
outside BCS, one cina guy got whacks jialat2.
3 dead in hosptial due to beaten up by demonstrators.
few leaders of this demo, riot were being paid by orang asing.
