I have been struggling weather to write this incident that happened to me many years ago. Finally, I decided that it may be a good outlet to pen it down as I have been keeping it in my heart for so long. Except for those who are directly involved, no one knows, even my OC have no knowledge of it as I have never mentioned it to anyone until now. The events are 100% true but it’s been so long, I will recall as much as I can and try to keep it factual. Names are modified to protect involved parties. Here we go…


I heard this familiar high pitched voice in mandarin reprimanding someone behind the shelves of canned food. It can’t be such a coincidence…I reasoned..

Slowly, I walked around to have a look………It really was her. She is so different now. Wearing a loose tee shirt and shorts, her hair much longer now and pinned up. After so many years, since I last saw her, she has really aged, gained weight, now looking slightly plump, very much like a housewife.

She was with 2 teenage kids. Should I approach her? ....... I asked myself…..I decided against it……..made a hasty retreat, out of the Cold Storage supermarket in Holland Village….This happened about a year ago. Ever since then, I can’t get the image of her off my head. Flashbacks on the numerous love making sessions we had together keep playing back. I often wondered, if I have a made a different decision on that fateful afternoon, will the outcome be a little different now???

I thank all the readers for our support and comments…I urge you to be patient as I unveil my story. As some things I say now may prematurely end a good twist to it….

It all started many years ago after my ORD (we called it ROD then), I got myself a job as a production supervisor in a Japanese company in the southern part of island. As a 22 yr old young man, I was ready to challenge the world, constantly dreaming of making my first million in the shortest possible time. Over the years, I have been luckless with girls, even though I am average looking, I am really quite conservative and introvert, spending most of my free time at home on books and hobbies. Computers and hand phones were unheard of then. Other than a few dates during my NS days, I never have a serious relationship and was still a virgin then.

I was excited on the first day of work. My job was to supervise 5 production lines each with 10 operators, making electronic components for car radios. To assist me, each line has a leader, appointed because they have more initiative and respected by their peers. All the operators and leaders are females between 18-30 yrs of age, mostly Chinese with a few Malays and Indians.

All the girls were excited to see who this new guy was, but on the other hand I was a little apprehensive, not sure what to expect. The leaders were very helpful and soon, I was dialed in and busy trying hard to prove myself.

My desk was right in front of the production lines and so I have a good view of the entire operation. Most of the girls are average looking, fresh from school, most did not complete secondary school. Some are loud and quite chio, short shirts, sentences often tainted with Hokkien expletives. The line leaders are slightly older, I guess in a way, they will command better respect from the line operators.

Busy with my own tasks, I honestly wasn’t paying much attention to the girls on the shop floor, but there is something about line #5 line leader that caught my attention. She is much younger that the other leads, about 20 years old, has a pretty face, small boobs, very slim about 40kg or so, short hair, about 1.6m. She has light make up, but dark eye liners. She is the kind that workers on open back lorries will give her wolf calls when she walks along the road. She is very fast and hardworking, but I noticed that occasionally she will steal a glance over my desk. Curiosity got the better of me, I soon found out her name was Jenny Goh Peck Kuan . She is still single and stays around Redhill area.

As the weeks progresses, I got more comfortable with the girls, they are more used to my working style. The leader on line #5 also get bolder and start to tease me each time I assigned her work A typical conversation will be something like this….

Jenny: Why you give me more work….you like me better issit?
Me: Ya la… ya la
Jenny: Then you better treat me better, maybe give me a treat, la
Me: You wait longer hor, if everyone wants me to give a treat, I sure pok kai
Jenny: Mr. Goh, you are so stingy, like that sure no girl wan to friend one

With that she turned around and troop back to her work place, as I fixed my eyes on her firm butt swaying under the thin fabric of her short dress…

Continuing the story………

The day ends officially at 5.30pm, however because there is a need to rework some of the line rejects, some operators are required to work overtime for a couple of hrs each day. On this day, I was the last to leave the factory. As I was walking towards the bus stop, I heard a familiar voice behind me………

“Eh, last one out, so hard working ah?” …..….I turned around, it was Jenny.

Me: I thought you already left ….who are you waiting for?Jenny: Waiting for you lor
Me: Huh?
Jenny: Aiyah, just joking with you only, you so worried… …I just went to the toilet, come out happen see you ma…so kan cheongMe: Oh….
Jenny: Eh.. I am hungry, you want to join me for dinner at the hawker center across the road?
I thought for a minute….I don’t see any harm, after all, she has been bugging me for a treat, maybe I could settle it once and for all.

Me: OK, anyway, I need to eat also
Jenny: Good… today my lucky day, can save dinner money liao. Your treat ok?
Me: No problem, just don’t order too much, I cannot afford you know
Jenny: Aiyah…you stingy poker don’t worry la, I don’t eat very much one.

We walked across the road, settled for an empty table. I ordered from the zhi char stall. Fried egg foo yong, chili kang kong and a steamed fish. Other than a few occasional teasing from Jenny, dinner was a quiet affair, I was constantly scanning around for any familiar faces from the factory. I was afraid of being spotted and ended up being a gossip topic. Luckily there wasn’t any….

Dinner ended around 8.30pm, I picked up the tab, and was walking towards the bus stop, when suddenly…..

Jenny: Still early, let’s go catch a movie
Me: Don’t wan la, tomorrow still got to work

Without any warning, she flagged the cab which is right in front of us, pulled my hand and ran towards it. I was in shock and did not have time to react. Once in the cab…

Jenny: Uncle, Regal cinema.
Me: Eh, you serious ah?
Jenny: Don’t worry, I won’t ask you to pay. You buy dinner, movie my treat..ok
Me: I worry leh, what happen if someone sees us, they will think we 2 pak tor...then how?
Jenny: Eh, why you so chicken, I also not afraid … why you so no balls one?

I was at a loss for words ……. I wasn’t in a mood for movies. Through out the journey, …. I was thinking of the worst….. what if we were to be spotted by others from the factory? .....But as a guy, when someone says your marbles are small, …. It really hurts, so I try to act brave….

25 mins later we arrived at the cinema, I paid for the fare, while Jenny went to the box office to get the tickets. I was scanning the area for familiar faces, ready to scoot if I see one. I guess luck was on my side tonight. With the tickets in her hand, Jenny approached me smiling…..

Jenny: I‘ve got 2 good seats for the 9pm show. Quite far back.
Me: Oh….. what movie is this?
Jenny: It’s a Chinese love story, I wanted to watch earlier but no kaki, so you are the lucky one.
Me: Huh?... love story......like that jia lat…. I sure fall asleep one
Jenny: You dare…just watch what I do to you….. let’s go, it’s going to start soon.

With that she pulled my hand and we headed for the entrance to the cinema.

I am an action movie buff, so this show was too dreggy for me. The screen was showing a kissing scene between the male and female lead, but my mind was focusing on the day’s events leading to the movie. Suddenly I felt a head on my shoulder and someone clinging to my right arm…..

It was Jenny snuggling up close to me. I turned, and came face to face with the most seductive glaze you could imagine… the …”I am all yours tonight”…… look. In that instant, I turned away and my body just froze. I couldn’t concentrate on anything anymore.

It seems like ages, but finally the movie ended, the lights came on and we stood up and headed for the exit. There was an awkward silent as we walk towards the front of the cinema. I stopped a cab for her, she got in and gave me a goodbye wave. I hail a cab right behind and headed home. Through out my whole journey, my head was spinning,.... her eyes and that look in the cinema, keep playing back…….

What am I getting myself into now………………

Good start to a promising story.....looking forward to an update soon. As one grows older, sometimes we recall those 'special' moments and incidents in our lives with fond memories....and end up asking ourselves...'What if ?' :rolleyes:
