Recently I broke up with my HK girl whom I got to know only for a couple of months. Frankly in the beginning she was all cuddy and submissive and unfortunately I encouraged the act by showering her with expensive gifts and even let her drive around my car when I am not around in Singapore.

The sex was great and all but there was always something bothering me. ie: She is just too nice. It makes me wonder if she is all that good and real. Then after a while, I decided that I need to know the truth, even if she finds out that I am snooping around her privacy and did leave me, at least I know before it is too late.

I read in the local papers about a software which once installed onto a phone allows me to divert all her incoming and outgoing SMS to another mobile, thereby allowing me to know who and what she is saying behind my back. Manage to get that software install in a jiff and before long, the dark side of my girlfriend finally surfaced and revealed itself.

In front of me and friends, she is such a dear but the way she describes my friends to her female confidants over the SMS is just the opposite. She further elaborate on her plans to 'milk' me over and even profess not to lose me to gal.

You can imagine that before long, I kick her out of my place and life before she can say huh? and i don't even need to show her her own SMS. Up to today, she is still wondering if her confidant have betrayed her.

Hence bros, I have had a sad case but I turn up wiser for it.
I do not want to sound paranoid about this because I believe in a healthy relationship but sometimes when things don't quite add up, it is time for some drastic actions.

No, she did not suspect it at all because I managed to get the software installed to her handphone while she was sleeping over at my place. After that, I did not need to touch her handphone.

I monitored her SMS messages for about 3 days and when i have enough, I turn off the diversion (without touching her handphone). After I broke up with her, she was very persistent to know why and what she did. Finally she did realized that I do know about what she has mentioned in some of her SMS and she only suspected her confidant whom she SMS to. She did not suspect because I did not read her SMS from her handphone.

Bro Curious75 is right.

Currently works for only one popular handphone vendor. Think it is because of the software programming. It would be great if it is possible for all make and models, then we can have some peace of mind knowing what's happening behind our backs.

yup,i saw it in newspaper too,i think 2 yr back,the device already in the market.Where to buy it,i not sure but i think sim lim should have it,can walk ard and ask the sale person.

It is a software, not a device you would attached to your handphone. U wont find it at SL. Have tried to do that when I was desperate. PM me if you need the contact.

please dont get caught alright? it is a criminal offence. bt if u dont say, no one will know. i dont need such software to monitor any girls in my life because i dont believe in having a steady girlfriend.. just fuck and go.

What if our OCs had already installed the software on our hp without us knowing? How do we check if such softwares are installed on our hp?

Read that it is illegal. But not sure if there are any court case because of this.

The question of whether it is illegal has been discussed on the newspapers and the verdict is still out. There is no privacy law in Singapore that protects anyone against this. The article came out in the papers in Jan 2007. Maybe we shld check it out first. It is perfectly OK for family members to monitor their children or spouses but it is probably illegal if it is used to tap on your bosses or people for espionage purposes.

Maybe bros can share where we can determine if it is legal or not, any where we can read about this? I know of only the Sunday Times article on SMS spying a few months ago.

3. You travelled overseas for work and drawing high salary.
4. You have own house.
No wonder she sticked to you! :eek: Any girl will try to "scrap" you from inside-&-outside!

Still, she deserved it! She has nothing to loose, afterall, she scrapped you so much.

On the hand, you've already paid a price and have got something inreturn. Hope you have learnt something. Don't trust girl easily.

Quite true Bro,

Lesson learned. I am now wiser and would probably take a second look or thought whenever there is a possibility of another relationship. I am not bitter because I discovered it early, otherwise the damage would be significant.

this software can use in nokia phone n i think certain model.
the guy can come n install on the phone or u install yourself.

when your gf send sms, her screen will appear some kind of message 4 a short while but the gf muz be alert 2 notice lor!

Quite true.... and believe me after that article in newpaper some time back, I'm sure a few curious spouces have also checked out the software.

so it pays to have a cheaper non-symbian hp. Just to warn some bros as the tables may be turned on us.

It is also possible to install a software in a hp you wish to spy on, then u can call into the phone without the user suspecting... the phone u are spying will appear to be in its standby mode, but you can just listen to the surrounding sound of the phone you are spying on and conversation if any...

And there's also a software that once installed, u can just send an sms and retrieve the location where that phone you are spying on is at...

Scary... looks like time to change to the monochrome hp... ;)

I kinda agree to the maxim "Some things are better off not knowing". I strongly subscribed to Jack Nicholson character in the 1992 movie "A Few Good Men" starring Tom Cruise and Demi Moore, where he shouted at Tom Cruise who wanted the truth in the court house, "U WANT THE TRUTH BUT CAN U HANDLE THE TRUTH??"

I guess one need to prepare for accept and take the truth (worst case scenario that your girlfriend is cheating) to undertake these measures.

Otherwise, some things are better off not knowing......

It is probably difficult to check if the software is installed to ur Hp because the darn software is good and stays hidden. In the newer versions, the tell tale signs of SMS diversion (like the little icon which indicates SMS activity) is no longer visible.

So how can u tell? Easy, by observing behaviour. The software, once installed, to the HP monitors all SMS traffic activity. Hence the moment the HP receives any SMS, it automatically will forward a copy to another designated HP (any normal GSM HP which accepts SMS). Conversely, the moment an SMS message is written, a copy is also forwarded to the HP. This means that the user target HP (where the software is installed) may not have even open and read his/her SMS (she wld probably just see the "U have 1 new message" display), but the SMS wld already have been forwarded. Hence, the phenomena will be that, if your HP which received the diverted SMS messages is not on silent mode, the moment she gets an SMS, both her HP and your HP will beep with a "New Message" alert and when she sends out an SMS, your HP will also beep. If you are in near vicinity with her all day, she (or u in your case if u are the target) will get suspicious.

What I did was to buy a pre-paid card (unfamiliar number), pay all my gf's telephone bills and insert the SIM card into a simple low-end HP which I keep on silent mode either in my car or in the office. I stop my urge to see these messages whenever she sends or receive any SMS and will do so either at the end of the work day or at night or early in the morning when I review all the SMS by batch. I will get to see all her incoming and outgoing messages, whom she has send to (the number and the name of the sender) all in chronological order and I just download the SMS into a text file (or I delete them if I do not intend to use them to confront her).

I stop monitoring her SMS after abt a week (after 3 days, u will get a good idea what she is like). Once u have the power to peek into her SMS, it does give u a good understanding of what type of character she is. Eg: what type of info she will share with you (eg: tell u what her family or friends have correspond with her via SMS) and what she withhold. This would give a gauge of how open she is with you and the level of trust between u and the gal.
