What has happened to Bro Rodney can happen to anyone. With tough laws to curb paid under-aged sex, anyone caught having sex with a service provider below 18 faces a jail term of up to 7 years:eek:

Rodney was just having lunch quietly at a GL coffeeshop when he caught the attractive smile of a friendly Mei Mei. Was he to know her age? Did he know about the recent tough laws? If he did, would he have still proceeded with the romancing?

Rodney is 61 and an accountant. He probably spent his entire life building his reputation and a happy family. Looks like he will lose everything..:(

I dont know Rodney personally but I feel his pain. What has happened to him CAN happen to anyone in Singapore.

You felt his pain as we all too felt the same. But what's your point in starting this thread ? As if bros here do not know about under age sex ! If Rodney would have stick to above 16 yrs old Mei Mei and be careful not get caught, he still has a happy family. Everyone reads the newspaper so what are you trying to say ?? :confused:

For paid sex, the legal age under the new Act is 18 NOT 16. The girl that Rodney screwed was 16 at the time of the tryst.

What it means is that you can screw any girl (e.g neighbour, IRC fren) so long as they are at least 16 years old. But if MONEY comes into play (i.e. she becomes a prostitute by definition), she MUST be at least 18 - or up to 7 years jail for the offender.

It was clear, she said, that the primary reason for introducing new laws in the Penal Code was to afford protection to a group of minors aged below 18 from sexual exploitation. - excerpt from legal Act.

Hope you understand why this thread was started..

Bros here must be more careful liao..Alots of student coming here to study always said they 19 yrs or going 19 yrs old next yrs. And need money for their courses and bros here sure helped them. So is it truth that they are 18 or 19? Maybe under age lor...Almost they face looked very childish. The problem is nobody bother to find it or check it from their IC. Just happy to have a pretty young student having a session. So if kena caught then is like the ah pei lor. Jailed up to 7 yrs.

So to be on the safe side. Is better to have a look which can tell they are between 25 to 35 yrs of age. A mature ladies. Sure safe lar. :D And more experience too. :)

Thanks for your advice bro, it was a typo error of 16 instead of 18 :D. If you have given sound suggestion to bros to be careful and check their "age" if in doubt, I salute you. Else merely starting a thread to state what happened to Rodney without stating your point or advice, I find it meaningless. Anyway your proactive action in this forum meant well for all bros. Bro hotbod8, u r absolutely right. Its under penal code 376B.

It makes it a crime for anyone to engage in paid sex with a minor under the age of 18. The provision was one of the changes to the Code, which came into effect on 1 Feb 2008. The offence carries a jail term of up to seven years, a fine or both. :eek:

Always play safe than to regret later. :p

What happened to Rodney is indeed very sad. But I think he is going to be made a scape goat in order to let the Sillypore citizens know "they" mean business. A jail term is very likely.:(

yeah i suddenly thought of a "loophole"..

next time do already check IC.. if IC shows that she is less than 18 years dun pay.. however if she insist, offer to pay in other terms like.. buy other material things for her
