anyone encounter this recently ? slow in loading pages,bad gateway error,database error etc ?? i try other site like $$$$$ and also porn,it load very fast.

Yes I also experience forum lagging last nite . Wanted to perform searches unable to do so . I also sometime got databasse error . :( Now appears to be ok.

Yes, slow: on and off recently - also cannot access/update - frustrating. Server also down on 17.5.12 Thursday: 4.30pm to 6pm - cannot access. Boss, problem with server - erratic performance ?? Have a nice day. :) Cheers.

I was doing some database maintenance but nothing that would have slowed it down for more than an hour or so during off peak hours.

At what time did you do the maintenance boss ? Because the slowness appears to be at night singapore time.

It started off with Saturday night. Saturday night was still quite bearable as it is only for a short while. Only last night was totally unbearable. :( even when loggin in takes abt 3 mins. When loading a page takes about 5 mins :eek: When I attempt to do a search function it prompted database error . I tried using a third party proxy to access your website I got timeout msg. Last night you have close to 27000 users on your website.

But this morning super fine. :)

I can't find anything wrong with the server which can easily handle 40,000 members plus guests at any one time.

I can only assume there was congestion at network level.

I'll investigate further.

How on earth a letter to the ST could affect network or server performance is beyond me.

Would you like to elaborate further so I can troubleshoot accordingly.

Hi SAM, can you share how many computers are used to host this website? I would be surprised if one PC is sufficient to handle 40,000 users.

No PC can host a decent sized website. Let alone one with a 10GB database.

You need big servers to host websites. This forum runs on a total of 6. The weak link is not the server power. It's the rest of the network including some parts which are beyond my control.
