hi,

is this shingles, there is no puss just water type? last week had very back pain... monday seen a dr and said suspect its shingles... its on my lower right back...causing my lower back to be painful and itchy..

Complications from Shingles

The complications from shingles are more serious than the symptoms themselves:
Persistent pain may occur if medication is not taken immediately and subsequent nerve damage is allowed to happen.

Vision problems have been reported in cases where shingles attack happens near an eye. Permanent loss of vision may result.

Skin infections might result from open cuts and sores that come from the shingles rash.

Nervous system problems can occur when nerves in the face are attacked by the shingles virus, and the virus has a path to the spinal column or brain. In rare cases, permanent paralysis or other nervous system disorders may occur.

Note : there is a vaccine for shingles.

My friend de friend also saw doc on Monday...
Doc confirmed he got shingles on chest...
Prescribe Virless (Acyclovir) antibiotics for 1 week, 5 times a day...
Tiagong should recover after that...
But the itch/pain may persist from few weeks to 3 months...
Like chicken pox, it is contagious.
Not life threatening, unless for those with low immune system.
Covering up the rash with a dressing or clothing helps decrease the risk of spreading the infection to others.

Acylovir is not an antibiotic it's and anti viral drug.

Antibiotics only work against bacterial infections.

Shingles can only be passed to those who have not had chickenpox or have not been vaccinated against chickenpox.

Sorry Boss... That's not true. I had chickenpox when I was in my late teens and shingles early last year.

I didn't say that those who have had chickenpox don't get shingles. In fact 50% of all chickenpox sufferers will end up with shingles by age 80.

What I said was that those who have had chickenpox won't catch shingles from someone else because you cannot catch the same virus twice over.

Chickenpox and shingles are caused by the same virus. When someone has had chickenpox, the virus remains in the body and flares up in later life as shingles.

i got fucked a girl that she said previously have chicken pox.. if i fucked her raw.. will i catch the virus ?

It is only contagious when she have active CP blisters or shingles.

When you first caught chicken pox (and recovered), the virus stays in your body for life in the nervous system etc. At this point, it is hidden and not contagious.
It can be reactivated in the form of shingles when your immune system is compromised. At old age, immune system tends to be weaker and hence, more old people have shingles.

Source: caught CP four months ago at the age of >35 and it was horrible.. The side effect of the antiviral was unbearable..

Chickenpox is only contagious from a couple of days before the lesions appear till the time the lesions have crusted so there is no chance of you catching chickenpox from her.

However if you come into contact with someone who is having an outbreak, you don't need to have sex in order to catch chickenpox. It can be passed by droplet infection without any physical contact whatsoever.

If you have not had chickenpox you should get yourself vaccinated.

Those who have had chickenpox and are worried about shingles can now get a shingles vaccination.
