Memories of Yangtze Cinema
 

This long ago closer down cinema. As a kid j always see in newspaper the ads for their RA movies and it always piqued my interest, was always curious about it. But never got the chance to go as it closed down while I was still a little boy.

Anyone can share what kind of place it was and experience you could have there? Am sure got some seedy things that went down there.

actually its a normal cinema, just like Eng Wah cinemas. Its all softcore. I went there once, I can't remember what movie i watch, but my only experience there wasn't a good one.

A guy just started smoking while the movie is still on, and i even heard belt unbuckled sound. haha

Many old man sitting alone. Masterbating in aircon comfort. 1 old man I remember was sitting with a small umbrella which is open and covering his lap. The rest up to you to imagine. This place cannot lean your legs against the back of seat in front of you. You never know who shoot sperm on the back of the seat in front of you. Quite strict on guys who look like under 21. Quite lenient on girls who look like they are under 21. I went to watch Devil's Advocate which starred Keanu Reeves.

The KTV on the same level if I remember quite interesting too. Many XMM then and fights are common. Still have KJ putting in Laser Discs ah :D

Yes! I too watched 2 RA movies? Cannot remember could be Taiwan productions. Amy Yip? Cannot remember. I guess the closed down due to RA, and blue movies went into CDs market. We buy from PRC peddlers.

The rest is history.

I also read a review from Xialanxue's post many years ago before it closed. Same as above. Uncles bringing umbrella to Play Chinese Chess and watch movies 一心二用.

Yes, those PRC peddlers used to come to our office to sell CDs, 3 for $10 I think. Watched with our office ladies, love to see their expressions. Some even commented on the skills and bodies of the female actresses :D

Will go around Chinatown to romp and get massages last time. Once in awhile, I will venture into Yangtze Cinema too.

But by the time I started venturing there was in 2000s already. The cinema only plays soft porn and sometimes, Jap AV movies. I remember watching two movies inside. The first one, I left halfway cause the show was damn boring and the old man sitting diagonally to me 3 rows away was eating some strong smelling food and masturbating away. A huge turnoff.

The other time I watched a soft porn there was on a weekday and surprised that a uncle and auntie couple was present in the entire cinema besides me. Not sure if they were having any action since they were sitting several rows behind me. Can't just turn round to peek, you know.

The cinema is like what we have in the 80s and early 90s. Old school chairs and walls. Musky smell (you know why lah). I remember that the place was run down inside the halls, just as the outside was run down. There was a flower joint and beer garden of some sort in the open area where the ticket booth was, but I never really know for sure as I never venture there at night.
I still remember that every time you walk to the cinema, you will need to pass by some MPs and the milfs and aunties there would always go, "Want massage? Give you special price, young man or ah boy. Lai, don't shy." that sort of lines.
